Ann Wood appears to have an *extremely* small pool of clients, and she does very little for the money you pay her. (I asked her initially how many people she had in her client pool, and she wouldn't disclose that information. I regret not walking out of her office at that moment). Despite my enthusiasm to meet people regularly, I had one introduction/date in 4 months. I just assumed it would be a much better way to meet people, but I was wrong. She seemed very enthusiastic at first, but things quickly changed (within a month). When I expressed my concerns a few times or asked for more introductions, I received nothing but excuses or attitude. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau since she uses its rating system to promote her business. She has refused to address any of my concerns so I essentially paid $1,000 for one date. So many of the things posted on her website are misleading. I have had much better luck on Chemistry and Match, despite my initial skepticism. (Do yourself a favor and take your $1,000 and do something worthwhile with it). What a disappointment, but live and learn.

The proprietor and the sole employee of this "business" was indeed a good listener but only before the check cleared. The "prenup" prevents a client from considering a legal action to get the money back. Oh well...

After trying the internet and groups, I have complete confidence in eventually meeting the right person this way. It is so personal, and she really listens.

I am deeply disappointed after a year of trying this service. I am glad I did not put all eggs in one basket, otherwise I would have wasted not only money, but also time and hopes.
A word of caution: if you have to use this or a similar (hopefully, more professional) service, ask for the total number of members, or at least the number in your age group. As it happens, assurances like "there are plenty" end up being empty promises. Another suggestion: do not sign contracts that say "it's all for entertainment purposes" and "payment is nonrefundable" as getting a refund is impossible. A good idea would be to ask how many "matches" you might expect in a month, year, etc. An evasive answer ends up being two matches per year with completely random and similarly disappointed people. Talk to your friends before you pay, and they might talk you out of throwing your money away and being taken advantage of.
