Is there a way to give a negative star?
I wish I had read these reviews before I used them. They grossly overcharged me, did not complete work they were asked to do, put a huge stain on my carpet, got an oil product into my cordless phone which ruined it, didn't totally clean up after themselves, and would not provide a complete detailed invoice after being repeatedly asked. They then threatened to put a lien on the property, which I no longer own, because I refuse to pay until I receive a proper invoice and a reduction in cost for what was improperly completed. The price also went up between the original cost I was told and the cost when I asked for more detail.
Based on these reviews, there is no way I would trust these people with my credit card number, either.
I called them because they had an $89 special on HVAC repairs. They more than made up for that with what they charged for the rest.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!

Smashed though the bedroom ceiling below with lump hammer when installing a 3rd floor bathroom, and broke a toilet flange by over tightening. In both instances it was somehow my problem, and they refused to complete original project without additional payment to correct their mistakes. Complete crooks. Please do yourself a big favor and go and find a professional company, who put their customers first in return for repeat business. These guys are amateurs who hit and run.

John C Flood is overpriced. I used John C. Flood to repair my heating system. They charged me $159 for service. The repairman was at my house for less than 30 minutes....20 minutes to be exact. They charged me $136 for an part which cost $30. DO NOTuse. I would recommend Magnolia Plumbing over John C. Flood. At least Magnolia Plumbling has polite and courteous customer service

This is an unrealiable company. They include charges to your card that are not what you were told and later when you try to find out the reason the person you are supposed to talk to is never there and they make up all sort of stories about the reasons for it. I do not recommend this company at all!

Beware - company charges for 'waiting time' if you need to consult anyone before proceeding with repairs -- and they won't tell you this until afterward when they add a large fee to your bill. Get everything up front.

They missed the appointment and blamed it on not being able to "find the guy with the drill." We cancelled on them and they would not refund our $200.00 deposit. Silly for us for laying out a deposit. After a month of corresponding with them they granted us a refund but it never came. After 6 months of daily calls and emails they are claiming we were never in the system for a refund and have since stopped taking calls from our home and cell phone. In addition they did work for us a month before all of this and they never checked their work for leaks. I had to tighten down the pipe they installed.

I'm a local realtor who used John C Flood for a recent service job for a client. Our client's repair job was so poorly handled and the customer service we recieved was so poor I feel compelled to share my experience with others. We will never do business with this company again, and niether should any of you.
It was a simple boiler issue. The technician came out and diagnosed the problem (to the tune of nearly $300 just for a diagnosis) and then failed to ever tell us or the client that additional work needed to be done for the boiler to begin operating properly. The owners gave them a credit card over the phone and had the understanding that the work had been completed and everything was fine. I was told that the work had been done, but nobody could produce an invoice for me. "Oh we'll get that out to you today sir"; "I'm just waiting on the ticket sir" Nothing for over a week.
To make a long story short, no work had been done. The technician had gone on vacation locking the ticket in his desk before he left and never turned it in. So now we have a seller who has agreed to do a job and a buyer that expects it to be done, and John C Flood to blame.
I don't have an issue with people making mistakes, and had they just apologized and offered to try and make it up to us I would have been satisfied and would have given them another shot. Instead they were very rude and nasty to me and the title attorney involved in the closing including yelling and trying to blame the issue on us and they completely refused to accept any culpability in what happened. I simply cannot do business with people who care about their customers as little as the folks at John C Flood.
Plenty of great HVAC companies out there that care about their customers...no need to use these guys.

They sooo ripped me off! Shister salesman gave me an estimate. I bit and then the boys showed up! Oh yeah! They ripped out my HVAC units that were supposed to be flush with the wall/balcony. Right The estimate was a mere $4,000 but then, when he relized that they had to rip out the original grills and add HVAC units that not only did not fit, but they then, when they realized they screwed up, they modified their estimate, added another $400 for their mistake, and added another 4 inches to overhang on my balcony!! Thanks for the extra $400 and the extra 4 inchs on my balcony! They suck! Don't do it! They ripped me off.

We had a very poor experience with this company and would definitely not use them again. We had a functioning bathroom when they arrived to speed up the drainage from the tub. When they left, we were unable to use either the bath or the sink in the bathroom and they gave us a massive "additional quote" for fixing the problem. Moreover, they made a huge mess and made no attempt to clean up after themselves. We called another plumber and they managed to fix the problem for a few hundred dollars -- much less than the "additional quote". The "additional quote" aside, this company's pricing policy is very opaque -- go for one that charges by the hour for the time that the plumber is actually at your home. We raised our concerns with the service provided with the company and received no explanation or apology -- one can only assume that this is their normal standard.

I would like to let everyone know about the world class service this company has provided me. Early this summer we experienced issues with our AC. Let me mention we have 3 small children in the house. Mr. Gallagher arrived at our home and was not only the utmost professional, but very sympathetic to our problem. He provided me a quote far below my expectations and the mechanics had our house comfortable in less than 4 hours. I wouldn't hesitate to call them in the future.

Avoid working with this company. Very disorganized procedures and misleading policies on their website. They state that they'll give you free estimates and will not charge for travel time. Yet they stiff you with a $150 fee just for coming out and showing up at your door. And don't buy the "free estimates" bullsh*t. What they do is they first send out a mechanic to do a simple 15 minute diagnosis then they'll tell you somebody else will come out to give you the estimate. So when you get this "free" estimate later on, if you don't like it you have to pay $200 for 15 minutes of bullsh*t labor that didn't even fix the problem.

Awful customer service, absolutely rude. We contacted John C Flood of DC, Incorporated to work on our heating system. We scheduled a time and date for someone to come out. The representative came out to the house ready for work. The worker came prepared to work, however, we were never given an estimate. The worker had to call the main office to obtain a quote. Once the quote was received, we accepted the quote and offer and informed the worker he could begin work. The worker was prepared to continue to work, but then a second person came out from John C. Flood and informed us that they made a mistake in the quote and then tried to double the price on the spot!! So, I immediately called back to the office and was rudely informed by Mr. Gallagher that they were not going to budge off the price and even though they made the "mistake" they were not willing to cooperate. It was the final doubled price or nothing at all!! How rude and unprofessional!! Needless to say, we did not allow them to do the work because if they escalated the price before the work was even started, we didn't want to experience what new astronomical prices they would try to charge us once the work began!! NOTE: AVOID JOHN C FLOOD OF DC INCORPORATED IF YOU ARE WISE!

Having read the last comment I thought I should offer mine. We had our furnace break over the weekend, and Flood had someone out to evaluate the problem within an hour. Within 3 hours of my first call a technician came to replace the broken part. Long story short, but turns out the furnace had lots of other problems so we decided to replace it rather than fix it. Flood had someone come back out -- still the same day as our first call -- and go over options for a new furnace. Techicians arrived Monday and installed the new furnace. They were very professional, worked hard, and did everything for the agreed on price. So long as the new furnace keeps working, I give this company a very high rating and would recommend them to others.

Please do not call this company. There were problems with their plumbing work and when we tried to talk to them about fixing them, they did not quickly respond and try to fix the problems and leaks. On top of all of this, they left a huge mess in every area that they worked and did not clean up.
