Xmission just opened up a free WiFi spot along Salt Lake City's Main street. Its runs between on Main Street from South Temple to 400 South. The reception is good on my Dell Latitude D600. Most local business along that route have flyers on how to sign in. This just goes to show Xmission is above the rest when it comes to advancing technology.
In addition to the free wifi access they also home DSL and dial up service. I really enjoy the free wifi and may consider switching to them as my dsl provider.
PROS: Free WiFi.
CONS: Limited Area.
