I don't understand why some people are giving this restaurant a bad review. My fiance and I dine there almost every other week and is one of our favorite places to eat. I was turned on to the place when friends of mine told me it was their favorite place to eat. The staff has always been very friendly and our waiters have been great. Hope this restaurant is around for a long time.

I read the review in this forum and was hesitant to take my american friends to the restaurant. But the service isnt so bad as some of the reviews say. yes they are a little slow to server the food and take orders, But they were smiling and well behaved. the food can never be as it tastes in india because of the ingredients you get here are the processed ones. But something which gets you a little satisfied and reminds you of back home is always welcome. It is not a place where you can go daily and have food, but once in a while should not matter. the food was tasty

I am living in peoria for almost 4 yrs and i have visited this restaurant only 3 times tht too under frnds compulsion. First thing No Hospitality, No customer service. For ppl who have not visited Indian cusine, make a note this is not the way Indian food taste like its far more different.
This is for the management
1) Change ur manager He is so rude
2) Tell attenders to smile when ppl come in either it may be an indian or foriegner

After reading the other reviews I almost didn't go to this restaurant. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The interior was tastefully decorated, the music was neither too loud nor too soft, the wait staff was attentive and the food was good. The dal (lentil soup) was especially good. The naan was good if a little thin. Not a world class place but definitely a good place to eat. I will return next time I am in town.

was completely unhappy with this restaurant. Being in the heart of the city, I had expected it to be much better.

The food was okie dokie - nothing great. Not even close to good. Even worse, is the service. The staff seemed biased while serving. They seemed to prefer bigger groups over singles visiting the restaurant. I felt I was overlooked in the restaurant. This is the last thing I would want in a place where I go to eat.

I saw the staff attending larger parties more often. The waiter just visited my table twice. Once to get the order. And last, to serve my order. Thats it. Even the manager seemed to be by their side.

I guess they have a criteria - "We serve only groups of 3 and above. Singles and Couples - Its our way or the Highway".

I have visited India a couple of times. So, I know how the India food tastes very well. I frequently visit Bombay, Kerala and Delhi for business visits. I truely love Indian food. However, this restaurant fell short in every aspect.

The food is not how it should be in reality. The service is bad. The staff looks as though they are under some undesired compulsion to serve the customers and keep the restaurant running.

This was probably the first and the last time I would visit this restaurant.

The only reason Sizzling India is still running is probably because there isn't another Indian Restaurant in Peoria. If they had even some decent competition around, they would be closed out much earlier.

If it happens the first time, I would consider it a chance. If it happens again, I would again give a benefit of doubt. But, If it happens a third time, I could say its pure incompetence. So here is my review.

Before, writing this review, I carefully chose to visit this restaurant 3 times. I love food. I live to eat. When I visit a restaurant, apart from the good food I also look forward to good costomer service.

The first time I visited Sizzling India, the first impression I got was ... These guys are RUDE ! I was standing near the counter for almost 15 minutes. I had the waiters and the manager passing by me. But no one had the courtesy to offer me a seat. Finally, when I decided to leave, the manager hastily offerd me a seat. Not that the restaurant was full. They had about 4-5 tables occupied.

Then, it took the waiter another 10 minutes to get me water and the menu card. For some reason, the staff chose "to overlook" the "customer service" criteria.

The Food was Strictly "O.K" I ordered some Tandoori Chicken, Tikka, Chinese Haka noodles the first time. As far the taste goes, it does not represent the "true taste" of how the dish should be. It lacks the flavor. The second time I visited, I ordered Kofta. This was pretty good.I chose to stick to Veg dishes. They seemed pretty OK. The third time was a disaster. I and my friends had to wait for 35 whole minutes to get our order. They did not even offer us a second round of water. I had to get out of my seat and ask the waiter if he had the time to serve us. I was on the brink of losing my patience.

The service is really bad. Probably, the first thing the staff and the manager should be taught is how to smile in front of the customers.

Being a food lover and having tried many Indian restaurants in the US...i would rate this at 2 on a scale of 10.

I recently went to Sizzling India for lunch with some friends and our children. The staff is courteous and welcomes the children, not acting like they are a bother, as some other restaurants do. Their lunch buffet is good, and the food is hot and aplenty. They keep your water glasses filled too!
