My wife and I went to the ED today because she was experiencing pain in the kidney area, chills, weakness, and nausea. The nurses and aides were friendly, but the nurse practitioner who oversaw my wife's "care" had the bedside manner of an uppity shrew. She barely spoke to us, barely listened, and was in the room for a total of maybe 6 minutes. She never actually touched my wife, nor attempted to discern the exact location of the pain to verify if it was, in fact, her kidneys or simply a pulled muscle. She completely disregarded the fact that my wife had recently started a medication that could cause kidney damage. Instead, she seemed certain my wife was pregnant, even though we knew she wasn't, or that it was a kidney infection (a reasonable diagnosis).

We waited 2 hours for urinalysis results that showed nothing. Still, no one attempted to discover the location of my wife's pain and we never saw the Dr. Wagner who was supposedly on duty. We were told that because my wife was young and healthy, she had a pulled muscle. The nurse practitioner prescribed a pain killer we did not want and discharged my wife. When my wife, in tears, expressed disapproval of this diagnosis, the practitioner became dismissive and cold. We left in disgust before receiving the discharge papers or prescription for pain meds that probably contained acetaminophen and would have interacted with my wife's migraine medication, because I doubt very seriously anyone bothered to actually look at her charts.

We will never go back and cannot recommend them to anyone.

Fauquier Hospital is a modern facility. My wife was there four times in the last month.
Twice her room was changed and twice nurses forgot that she was in a room and was not fed.
The bathroom showers were never cleaned. When I told them that it looked like there was blood on the floor in the shower my comments were dismissed.,,, She was very ill and I had to be her advocate on quite a few occasions... we heard comment more than once form doctors who basically said things were not there job....

I would not go here for anything serious.... short stay... maybe ok... long term go some where else...

I have never found a more efficient hospital system than this. They are quick to schedule you for tests, and quick to check you in and perform these tests. There is not a lot of waiting around in the waiting rooms! They are a truly professional team. The hospital is clean. They are making it larger, to serve you better. I like the convenience of a nearby hospital, but I am disappointed that they do not have an endocinologist on the staff.
