I agree with the other reviews, the office environment was chaotic, disorganized and generally rushed - though everyone had to wait 30 minutes plus. I also got robbed by one of the nurses during a recent visit - she had tatoos, long press-on nails, and had a "I couldn't give a damn" air when I asked a couple of questions. I asked her where the bathroom was once I finally got to a room - she pointed down the hall. When I returned, I noticed my wallet sticking out of my bag - and $25 in cash had gone missing. When I approached Dr. Picco to tell her what was going on in her office - that people were stealing from her patients - she responded with a "I can't be bothered with this" attitude, and directed me to her office manager - who took down my details, promised to call to file a police report, and of course never did.

I have seen Dr. Picco on more than one occasion, and while the practice is not the most efficiently run in the world, I absolutely love Dr. Picco. Yes, she talks fast and can appear rushed, but she still answers every single question that I have. In fact, she asks many questions as well, which a bad doctor would not do.
As for the person who commented on her choice of clothing, I suggest you remember that we are in 2009, and not 1959. Doctors, both men and women, do sometimes dress more casually these days, and that Dr. Picco dresses in a way that most women wish they could get away with, does not speak to her ability as a doctor.
And while I agree that it would not be professional to keep your first appointments of the day waiting due to always being late, my suggestion would be, if you have had that experience more than once and still want to see her, PICK ANOTHER TIME.
The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because it is sometimes hard to get a timely, regular non-pregnancy related appointment. Outside of that, I would recommend Dr. Picco to anyone.

I've been going to Dr. Picco for almost 6 years and have found her to be a highly professional, competent, and personable doctor. She always has been very attentive to every medical issue that I've had. She sometimes seems like she's in a rush, but she's always answered all of my questions. I've also never had a bad experience with her staff. I'm amazed by the negative reviews. I also don't get the comment about her clothing. Yes, she has trendy taste in clothes, but she certainly doesn't look unprofessional or like she's going to club.

I worked with Dr. Picco at Sibley and decided to schedule an appointment with her.....huh, bad idea! First of all the office is beautiful and she is a very nice person, but she doesnt listen! I was suffering from disfunctional bleeding and I have reactions to birth control. What does she do, give me birth control. So I figure I would try again, she is always late. She does rush through her patients. I called her for lab results and nothing! I had to get a copy of my own records just to see my results. Oh, and not to mention the office faxed me someone elses information: labs results (everything) which violates patient rights! BIG NO NO! I went to Dr. Kreitmann and he solved the problem in 1 visit! P.S. I nver signed a patient release to get my records so if you go to this practice please check everything!!!!

I have only been to Dr. Picco about 3 times in the last 2 years. She was recommended by my dermatologist, Dr. Yolanda Holmes, whom I really like. My impression is a doctor who knows her stuff. Yes, she speaks quickly and is on the move (things to do, people to see), but she hasn't hesitated to tell me when I need a test or to check something out, so I think she is thorough. I must be visiting the office in the twilight zone from the rest of these reviews because they have always been professional to me, and I am in and out fairly quickly. Finally, I like the fact that Dr. Picco dresses casually/nicely like the young woman she is. . . I think it says something positive about her. I try to stay away from the Doctor/God types.

I did not receive a negative vibe as other reviewers did. I actually liked Dr. Picco's frankness and attentive nature. The office was comfortable and appealing. I didn't feel she was rushed, but got the impression she had other patients waiting. Her waiting room is a messy disaster. I have no idea how they can jam so many people in the stressful waiting room. I thought it was ridiculous and noticed a lot of women had to reschedule. The waiting is horrid, but Dr. Picco is not. I recommend her, but not her office.

I have had the same experience! Dr. Picco is awful.

If I am scheduled for the first appt of the day, there are 10 other people scheduled at the same time and she always arrives late so we are all waiting an hour before she even arrives. She is always rushed.

She dresses in regular clothes and appears to be going to a club every time I meet with her. She is extremely unprofessional and recommends unnecessary visits so she can make more money. I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

I agree that Dr. Picco is always in a rush, and somewhat aloof. She's never personal and her office always makes me wait at least one half hour, often more. I have also been waiting for over a month for test results. After ten phone calls, three messages, and one email I still haven't heard back. I think they're simply an overworked office in DC, but it's terribly frustrating and unprofessional. I'll be going elsewhere from now on.

Dr. Picco is a good doctor and gives solid medical advice, but my overall experience with her has been greatly diminished because she always seems to be in a rush. She answered all my questions, but her responses were brief and I only got the information I needed by asking her several follow up questions. After I asked a few questions on the same topic she said that she would have the front desk give me an information packet could answer any additional questions that I might have. I??ve had three appointments with her and they all went about the same. My friend had the same experience with Dr. Picco.

Something that I did like about Dr. Picco was that I had something biopsyed and it came back as precancerous and she immediately referred me to an oncologist. She said that ??whenever anything comes back as precancerous I always refer my patients to an oncologist because if I were in your situation that??s what I would want.? I appreciated this advice.

In addition, the office is completely unorganized and I was running an hour and a half behind schedule. They had scheduled so many appointments over the lunch hour that patients were sitting on the floor. I spoke to a woman in the waiting room who said that she had been going there for two years and it was great in the beginning but her past several appointment wait times had gotten worse and worse. I've had three appointments at this office and have had to wait at least 45 minutes to see the doctor all three times. The people who work in the office are nice and I know that what matters most is the doctor, but it makes me nervous about the quality of care when the office is consistently run in this manner.

It??s also difficult to get in touch with someone in the office. I??ve tried faxing and leaving messages and they??re so behind that it takes forever to get a response. Fortunately my problem was a billing problem ?? I can??t imagine being in that situation if it had to do with my health.
