I have been going to Dollywood for over 10 years and I am very pleased to say that there is an effort to keep improving the park. There has been more coasters and water rides added to the park. The new Mystery Mine is AWESOME! Also enjoyed the newer disc ride. It just gets better every year. Thank you Dolly for continuing to improve the park. It really shows. Employees are overall very friendly and helpful and it is an enjoyable place to visit

The attractions are great. There are a lot of rides there. There are a lot of shows all day long. It's in the mountains, so it's super cold in the winter. Even though it's cold, a lot of people still go. It's a lot of fun.

I've always loved Dollywood- since the early days of Silver Dollar City. This is such a nice place to visit in the Mountains. There is something there for all ages. Dollywood just has an unexplained feel to it that I love. They have music, arts and crafts, live shows, excellent food and rides.

Easy to reach by the Trolley System that runs from Galtinburg and Pigeon Forge. The October Fall Festival that includes Southern Gospel Music groups, Arts & Crafts and all the food and attractions is really hard to beat.

I can't put my finger on it, but this much I know. Our family of four was in total agreement to leave after onlt an hour and a half. Maybe we are jaded by Disney, but there just isn't much to do here. We travelled a long way for a big disappointment.

PROS: I like Dolly, really, I do
CONS: Not what we expected

Dollywood theme park is a one-of-a-kind. It is so much fun for all ages and there is so much to do and see. Not only are the rides great but they also have great live entertainment. It is also home to four of the South's largest festivals. The park is very clean and the staff there all know what true southern hospitality is!

The park has been around forever, as far as I'm concerned. Some of the rides have too! There is at least one new ride every year. I have to add, because I have not noticed this on any other reviews: the bathrooms are the cleanest and best stocked of any outdoor bathrooms I've seen! The park has a great staff, fun rides, some of the best shows in the Smokies and pretty good food. The parking is expensive, tho. I feel that we always get our money's worth out of the park. We leave exhausted and happy and wet! Another plus is that they have free ice water throughout the park.. If you're a fan of Dolly P., you'll enjoy the exhibits of her and her family. If you're like me, you'll skip those parts!

PROS: Good clean fun
CONS: it's too "Dolly"

Dollywood is okay the first few times you visit, but after that it gets boring. There is never any kind of change. However, if you go during the holiday season, there is a definite change. They have one of the nicest display of Christmas lights and other holiday things. I would recommend Dollywood as a theme park to visit.

We go to gatlinburg once a year, and we make sure to go to Dollywood. They have all kinds of rides. They have many gift shops, places to eat with some good food. They have a fun train ride around the property that is really neat. There are things for all ages to do, and they have special rides each year. This year was a Spongebob ride that was really fun. they have water rides, and roller coasters also. The kids always enjoy it.

but if you aren't a country music lover, I would not suggest going. If you are going just for the family, great, but be sure to bring ear plugs because the music is streamed throughout the park. The visiting singers and dancers from different countries is wonderful, though. The grounds are well kept. There were not enough rides or areas in my opinion for younger children. The ticket prices are also expensive for what you get.

PROS: grounds well kept

I recently took my family on vacation to the mountains and we stopped at Dollywood on the way there. It was the highlight of the trip. They aren't the largest theme park but very nice. There was a nice exhibit about Dolly Parton. We were able to do it in a day. My wife doesn't like rides so she saw the shows and shopped while the kids and I rode all the rides. The park was very well kept and there were so many things to see. I would go again and I know the kids would love another trip there. The price was reasonable and there were plenty of good places to eat.

If you have never been to Dollywood, you MUST check it out if you are in the area. There is no other place like it in the world! There are thrilling rides for every age group, games galore, country gift shops, educational experiences, and great food and entertainment. This place has a genuine country flair to it. Sure, it is overpriced, but aren't most theme parks? It is guaranteed to be a memorable experience for the whole family! Just be prepared for crowds and long lines if you visit during peak season.

Dollywood is really fun for the whole family. Fall is my favorite time. Crafts shows for Mom, & tons of crazy rides for the kids. The food is expensive and about a 6 on a 1-10 scale. Our family of 5 buys season tickets for $240.00. We usually get about 5 visits a year in. A good value for the money. At Christmas time, you MUST go at night, the lights are beautiful!

PROS: Good value for the money, fun time
CONS: food not all that good & very expensive

We have season passes to Dollywood, and have been visiting this park since it was Silver Dollar City in the 70s. The park is beautiful and clean. They expand more and more each year, always something new. There are rides for anyone in the family. A great way to spend a day, or a week. Season passes save you money if you are planning on visiting for more than a couple of days.

Dollywood is a quaint amusement park. Be prepared for a lot of walking, both uphill and downhill. It is widely spread out but there are a lot of benches to rest on. There is a Country Fair section which includes rides. Be prepared because if you aren't "this tall" you cannot ride on them. There are carnival type games, most cost $1.00 to play to try and win a stuffed animal. The rides are well maintained and have a good record for safety. There is a train ride that leads you all around the park and into the hills which show you how life in Apalachia used to be. Christmas time at Dollywood is awesome, with over 10 million Christmas lights. They also serve things like hot apple cider for those cold winter days/nights. All employees are dressed for the era their shops are supposed to represent. They have people on site who make their wares, a glass blower, a leather shop, candle makers, lye soap demonstrators, and many others. There are also many shows to choose from and are shown in very comfortable theaters (the majority are included in your admission price, special performances require seperate ticket purchases). It is disapointing that Dolly isn't there very often, maybe 4 times a year. Kinda like Disneyland, you expect to see Mickey mouse. There are a lot of food kiosks which serve different varieties of southern cooking. The BBQ places serve sweet BBQ sauce on their food which I really didn't care for. Some of the shops let you make your own gifts like the candle shop where you can dip your candles in colored wax to make your own unique design. New in the last year or too is Doggywood where you can leave your pet for someone to care for, only seeing eye dogs are allowed in the park now. Parking is 6.00 and they have a trolly that will take you to your section when you are ready to leave. Traffic is a nightmare before and after opening and closing.
Prices are age 12-59 -$43.50 4-11 $32.35 and Seniors 60+ up is $40.15.

PROS: Hands on shops, variety of shows, true southern hospitality
CONS: PRICE: 43.50 per person

Dollywood is a wonderful place to spend the day. The rides are kept clean and updated and the entertainment is world class. It's very family friendly and has lots of places to relax if you get tired. It's a better deal to get the season pass and go 2-3 times instead of buying a one day pass several times. It gets very busy so it's best to go early in the day.

To have fun and vacation is the epitomy of fun at Dollywood. This place has so much to see and do that we visit more than once each year. My husband and I love to just walk around and go to the shows and eat the great food. We love to people watch and this is the place to do that too. They have a wonderful swing that you can sit on and swing the day away. Being a little older, my husband and I have no time limits. So we just take our time and walk around and relax on the swing and while the day away here. They also have a kiddie area for the little ones, although we don't have little ones anymore. The kiddie area is filled with wonderful rides, a water area, and plenty of gift shops. There are musicals for the gospel lover and the country lover too. There are wonderful restaurants with great food, an Eagle area, and a ton of booths that will show you the old way of making things. In the fall they have a great craft show and in the winter they have a tremendous Christmas program throughout the park. Their funnel cakes are to die for. Very good parking. Get a yearly gold pass and pay no parking fees. The kids will have as great a time as the adults here at Dollywood. Also, down the road is Dolly's Splash Country. A large water park for people of any age. And in the hot weather that is very nice to have. Spend a day of the summer here and you will want to visit every year.

Dolly Parton's entertainment amusement park features a variety of entertainment for everyone in the family, over 20 different craft showcases (BlackSmiths, Glass Blowers, Wood Crafters, and many more!). Features over 30 rides for all ages. A children's area of the park with kiddie ride. For the more daring adults take a ride on their newest roller coasters (wAAAHhh!!!!). Tons of attractions, there's just too many to list. Be sure to take a trip to Imagination Station where you can experiment and get hands on with all kinds of neat experiments.

Check out their website for a listing of everything. Dollywood has it all! You think Disney is great, forget it! you havn't been here yet! They may not have Mickey Mouse but they have many more colorful crazy characters that make up for that. Hundreds of stands, themed shops, games, rides, a museum that depicts Dolly Parton's life growing up, bakery (you have got to stop in there! yumm!), candy shops, old tyme pictures. And just when you think you've seen and experienced it all you have to take a ride on the real coal burning Train (enjoy the show as well!). Their Festivals are a BLAST! The Harvest Festival is one you can't miss if you're visiting during the Fall with the color change of the leaves in the Smoky Mtns.. The Smoky Mtn. Christmas Festival is magical and one you won't forget.

PROS: Check out their park hopper pass % on their website.

After having just gotten back from another park with multiple roller coasters (some of which were constantly breaking down) and very rude park personnel, I really appreciate what we have here in Tennessee. Dollywood is an excellent value. The people there are friendly and helpful. Although there are only two coasters, there are plenty of other rides and things to do and the workers get you through quickly. Cups of cold water are available at any restaurant in the park free of charge. The entertainment in the shows is well above average, compared to other parks. There is also a wide selection of food choices from the usual park fare (fast food) to sit down meals and buffets. If you plan more than one visit, get a season ticket. It is cheaper in the long run.

Loads of live entertainment, really only two rollercoasters for the coaster nut. My problem was the lack of facilities. Each area (or land as they call it at some parks) you went into only had ONE set of water fountains. In July with 95 degree temps, they either want you to purchase water for 2.25 a bottle or make you find the hidden warm water fountains. Plus large sections of the park had virtually no shade in the seating areas. It just seemed like the park was poorly laid out.
The Thunderbolt wooden coaster was definetely faster later in the day, when the tracks were warmer. Great ride. The Tennessee Twister, the steel coaster, was a good ride, just not on of the top rides of that type I've been on.

This attraction is a little expensive but probably worth the money. There were several shows to watch but that may bore little ones. You can easily spend the day here. The rides were all clean and fun. We especially enjoyed the water rides.
