Wow, I wonder how much Associated paid that person to give them a 5 star review. Or it's probably someone who works for them. Because there is no way they deserve anything more than a 1 star review. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! The people who work in the office, such as Kristen, Michele & Kathy; well, they are the biggest problem. When you are looking for an apartment & you go to the office, they treat you like gold & pretty much kiss your A$$. But then, once the lease is signed they treat you badly. If you have problems, don't expect help from them. They just consider you trouble & go out of there way to cause problems for you in any way possible. Forget that security deposit. That's gone for good. No matter how you leave your apartment. I left mine a 100 times cleaner then how I got it. Oh yeah, that's another thing, you know how they say tell us any problems you have on the "Move In Sheet". That's another joke. They never did anything. I called & called almost daily for 3 weeks. Nothing! Watch out! they even charge you for things that are perfectly fine. I don't know how they get away with it all, but I sure hope "What goes around comes around", Because they are most certainly gonna get a lot of crap thrown right back at them.

They made a mistake assigning late fees to me in their statement. Eventhough they acknowledged their mistake, they refused to fix it. They kept sending monthly letters threatenning with legal action.
After nagging us and the students leaving in their appartment the whole year with unsolicited Work Orders to get extra revenue on the lease, at the end, they came up with enough charges and phony Work Orders for which, in other places, is regular maintenance (painting, cleaning and a number of "invented" fixes) to match the exact amount of the security deposit. AVOID dealing with these...whatever!!

PROS: None
CONS: Mistakes on Statements, Scam to keep Sec Deposit

Associated Reality, unlike the Apt. Store, has been helpful, reliable, and considerate. Their maintence crew is great and I actually enjoy the people in the office.

PROS: Great people, good service
CONS: Lot of pet restrictions

Since Associated Realty has a monopoly on most of the properties in State College, it is almost impossible to avoid them. However, please do so if you have any choice in the matter - not only are they some of most inconsiderate people I have ever had the misfortune of working with, but they tried to overcharge us at move-out for "damages" that we didn't cause. They are a poor excuse for a business that thrives on taking advantage of college students.

PROS: I don't have to deal with them anymore!
CONS: Inconsiderate, cheating, will take you for everything you have & thensome!
