i work at a daycare center and i understand parent's concerns but alot of times probaly like with this lady here parents jumped to conclusions, want unrealistic things from teachers and care givers and expect something from us we are not able to give.
most parents escpecially older ones in their late thirties up,are very fussy, they want their kid looking spick and span when they get there, they dont want a hair out of place or a speack of dirt or anything anywhere on them, forget the fact that the children are children who do get dirty when they play.
another thing parents dont understand is that most states have unrealistic ratios ,they dont understand that you may have 11 small children all by yourself and it is impossible to look after each one all of the time.
then there is the fact that most teachers dont even get breaks, they are paid peanuts, they get sick alo the time from the children and sometimes their employers dont even give them insurance, the children are sometimes spolied so bad that the teachers have to take physical violence off them and there is nothing they can do about it,turn over is high because of parents who come in ,see a new teacher and treat them like dirt ,heres the thing most people that work at daycares are not there for the money! they are there because they love children and want to make a difference if you give the new teachers a chance you might see that they have been doing the best they can and will improve greatly with time.
and ps lady, how do you know the kids was in the swing all that time...how do you know your kid didnt just start crying and the teacher was alone and in the middle of changing another one and couldnt quite get to your child in time...
i understand your child is your top prority but grabbing your child like that without asking for an explanation and then damning a whole company for this observation is a little too much dont you think.

sincerly
a loving, caring, underappreciated, underpaid and overworked child care worker

My son was at this daycare center for nearly 4 months. I chose this particular center because it was a well-known chain and because it was close to my employer. My first problem was their high turnover rate for teachers: My son had 4 different ones in 4 months! I went over every day on my lunch break to nurse him and saw things that made me very uncomfortable. The final straw for me, however, was when I brought my child in one morning and the "new" teacher placed him in a swing. I was late for my lunch break due to a meeting and went back nearly five hours later. My son had not been moved from that swing! He was beat red, covered in spit up, and was screaming his little head off! I picked him up and never went back.
