Because the pool is located outside, the pavement is very hot and hurts your feet when you walk on it. However, the giant water slide at Jack Carter Park is thrilling. There are always more than enough lifeguards on duty. Therefore, this pool is very safe for young children and families. There is also a snack booth for parents to buy snacks for their children. However, the snacks are a bit overpriced. There is also a water playground built for younger toddlers and infants. This separate smaller pool area makes it safer for young toddlers and infants to enjoy water without being intimidated by older children.

Great location in the middle of plano. It's right next door to a middle school in a residential area for convenience. The pool is huge and they did some remodeling on it a several years back. It's in good condition and a great place to swim if you don't have a pool in your backyard or neighborhood. It's also outdoor so you get a nice dose of sunshine while you swim.

My kids love to swim at Jack Carter.

It is an older Plano facility, but still lots of fun. My older guy loves the big pool. It has a diving area, volleyball area and open swim area.

The wading pool just completed remodelling and it is fabulous fun for little kids.

We have not visited the playground or other facilities as we head straight for the pool

PROS: Great summer fun
CONS:

Jack Carter is a park that has been part of the City of Plano Parks and Recreation Department for a long time, and it's a family tradition. There's a park with picnic tables and walking and bike trails, as well as an incredibly nice swimming pool. The pool is actually more than one pool--there's one just for kids that's kind of a wading pool, then the regular pool. There's plenty of room to spread blankets and umbrellas and tables to sit at as well while others swim.
