The Alemany Farmer's Market is my favorite farmer's market in the city (and not just because it's in my neighborhood). It lacks the pretension and high prices of the Ferry Building and the sketchiness and scarcity of the Civic Center. The selection is always good, especially if you go early. Remember to walk around before you buy, because some vendors are much better than others. It's difficult to leave without bags and bags of fruit and vegetables because prices are so low. Also, be sure to check out the Tamale stand and baked goods stand. Both are delicious.

The Alemany Farmers Market has been around for years - I can remember going there as a kid - it is a mom and pop operation - people rent the space and sell their produce - you can get just about any type of fruit or vegetables you want - the best part is the produce has just been picked and the prices are great - the vender's are friendly and helpful.

This is a great farmers market with the best fresh fruit and vegetables. We stop by here once or twice a month to get our fresh fruits and vegetables. They last longer then the ones one in the supermarkets.

Great place to get fresh fruits and veggis for pertty good prices. The Farmers market has been here for years and there products are f great quality. I been told the prices here are cheaper then the Farmers Market at the Ferry Building.

This is not the frou frou overpriced farmer's market like at the Ferry building. This is the real thing, with the freshest fruits and veggies brought straight in from the central valley, at the lowest prices. There is also a great stand of indian food (try the samosas!) and bakery items, olive oils, etc.

I used to go to the Alemany Farmers Market a lot when I lived in the Daly City area a few years ago. This place has a private parking lot and permanent stalls for the vendors. Every Saturday there are a lot of vegetables, fruits, nuts, eggs, plants and other items sold here to hundreds of people.

This is the real farmers market in San Francisco, especially when compared to the Ferry Building, which is more upscale and touristy. I don't go here that often since it's not close to where I live, but they always have really fresh fruits and vegetables that are brought in from the farms around the bay area. Prices are pretty cheap too. There are a few stalls that have bakery items, and there is a guy selling tamales and a stall for cooked indian foods like samosas, too.
