I am writing a letter to the Detroit news papers and a letter to the owner of the Panthers to get this animal abuser kicked off the team! I have seen him hit animals, swear at them and kick their cages! He is a poor example of a basketball "superstar" and needs to be kicked off the team! We don't need another Michael Vick!

Pollywood Pets is horrible. My boyfriend and i went into pollywood pets, and outside the store we saw a dog just hanging from this thing, while another dog was just laying on top of it. Then we went inside and there was 3 dogs, in like a heating lamp being incubated or something, when asked why they were in the lamp and not with the other dogs, he wouldnt and refused to give me an answer. I would recomend the other pet store by the front area. My boyfriend and I got a golden retriever mixed with german shephard. and she's just a delight to have in the house. They are veryy nice people.

Disgusting place - seeing the pets suffer at Pollywood pets - I will never go back to Gibraltar again. TOO depressing! When I shop, I like to enjoy myself - not worry about animals suffering! I would NOT recommend this place!

I have done my homework being transferred to many departments within and out of the State of Michigan regarding Shelly Meyers and Pollywood Pets who get ALL of their puppies from Puppy Mills. What you can do to help besides not buying from them is to write your experience in as much detail as possible to: USAD Animal Care, 920 Main Campus Drive, Suite 200, Raleigh, NC 27606 (919) 855-7100. It must be submitted in writing. Name names, locations, etc... because the More detailed information you are able to provide the more chance they have of learning the location of the puppy mills and shutting them down!!!
I am so outraged of people who deal with animals solely for the money but I'm turning my anger into a productive way to help the numberless dogs who are literally being breed TO DEATH in the most abusive conditions in over 1,000 puppy mills throughout the United States!
***Also, do your own research, tell all those you know: to not buy from pet stores or from anyone who cannot tell or show you the parents of that cute puppy you want...as they unfortunately will be from one of those 1,000 puppy mills or stolen.

I was in there today to see the birds and I thought the place was terrible. They were hitting a cage with a pomeranian puppy in it because it was barking for attention. The birds had no toys in their cages and I seen mice running around and eating left over food out of some of the empty cages in the back. I felt so bad for the blue and gold macaw that I wish I could of taken it home with me. I think the place should be shut down!!

I bought a puppy on 2/22/09 from Pollywood Pets. 2 days later she was diagnosed w/Parvo.$400.00 in vet bills and I've only had her 3 days. What else could wrong with her?

Please look to your local shelter for your new cat or dog. By purchasing from pet stores you are supporting torturous puppy mills. Love our animal friends- please put businesses like Pollywood OUT of business!

Contact the dept of agriculture. They are they ones who can do anything about it. I used to work for the humane society and unfortunately, they have absolutely nothing they can do. They are non profit and have no say on the city or state regulations on how to care for pets. Dept of ag can go in and shut them down.

I have to say that I have been a vendor at Gibralter Trade Center for several years. I find it hard to believe that the owners of this establishment care very little about us vendors. We bring in business so that they can remain open. Do you know last year we had to throw our own Christmas lunch. If we leave ten minutes early we are penalized. The manager of the establishment is cold and not very sociable. He cares more about his vending business than than about us. We are the ones paying his pay check. For Gods sake have a heart. When a vendor leaves that has been there since the beginning they don't even get a farewell, just a pat on the back. Where is the heart in this? Wake up Gibralter before you wake up and all vendors are gone.

I believe Pollywood Pets should be shut down. None of the dogs get any attention four days a week, they all look unhappy & desperate to get out of the cages which are small and dirty. I'm callling the Humane Society to complain.

I purchased my black lab from Pollywood Pets 11 years ago. My son also purchased 2 dogs from Pollywood. The owner,Shelley takes great care and loves all the animals that she cares for. I am appalled to read such lies about this business!! I am also going to be purchasing another puppy in the near future and I will certainly buy from Shelley at Pollywood Pets.

The state of MI regulations are so bad and minimal that Pollywood always complies with all of them upon inspection. Anyone can clean up the store in 5 minutes according to MI regulations.

Pollywood is INHUMANE & DISGUSTING
As a joint community we can make a bigger impact. Help change the animal right laws in MI. God Bless.

I bought a pomaranian puppy at pollywood my daughter fell in love with him they told me he was healthy my god i have spent so many nights up with him throwing up diarrea earmites parasites in his belly it has costs us thousands and lots of heartache now we find out he might die. he has a severe heart mermer. im now trying to come up with the money for a cardiologist because the doctor tells me he probably wont live. thanks people at pollywood.we called them and they told us to just trade him you tell me how do you just trade a puppy you love? so if your sick should we just give up on you? i think you should pay his bills since you lied and told me he was healthy... remember i keep my bargin i payed you 650 and continue to love this little guy and you wanted us to just trade him. he is a living being. well i also think they should shut you down and iam considering going to the news for action. i will not just sit back and watch my little guy die in vain.

This pet store is nothing more than a public puppy mill. I don't understand why it is not shut down and all the animals removed. They are crammed into small cages that are dirty and moldy. They are left alone in the dark and cold four days a week. This so-called store sells over-priced unhealthy animals. It needs to be shut down! Please call the humane society and the management of Gibraltar and COMPLAIN! That's the only way we can get it shut down for good.

I usually go to Gibraltar Trade Center for the hobby/craft section of the store, but it is a huge place that you could find a lot of things in. Sometimes I just go to look around and will end up buying something that I will be able to use in some kind of project that I am or will be making. When it is warm out, they have something like a huge neighborhood garage sale on the outside of the building that has all kinds of things from deep fryers to band-aids to old comic books. They also have fairs and expos that specialize in computer electronics, brides and wedding, and a couple other things. In December they are open more days of the week than just the weekend, which makes a good place to go if you like one stop shopping.

I think that you can find anything at Gibralter from clothes to knickknacks and food. I am totally appalled that the pet store is still around. It's dirty and all the pets look half dead, but the rest of the building is descent for being what it is.

If you are looking for just about anything, the Gibraltar Trade center has it. From antiques to toys this place has it all.

You can rent a booth there too and sell your collectables.

There is a parking fee but when you see the bargains offered on so many items you wont mind paying the parking.

Watch the paper too for weekend specials. Some weekends have a specific theme.
