I have been bringing my 2 1/2 year old son to this clinic since he was born. We have had some issues with them wanting to refer our son (who suffered from 9 ear infections in a 6 month period) to an ENT. We had to wait until his ear drum ruptured, BUT that wasn't the kicker. We brought our son in thinking that he had broken his leg in a fall. The doctor took xrays and told us that it was a bone bruise and if we kept having troubles that it might be a fracture in his growth plate and then we would need to bring him to an ortho specialist. He kept having problems so we took that xrays that were taken at this clinic to his ortho specialist and guess what... he had a broken tibia...clear as day. It was 3 weeks since that visit and my child went without a cast or any other support and it was too late to do anything for it. We had to give him tylenol and ibuprofen to get him through 2 weeks of pain. We trusted them. I think the worst part of all of this is that we have tried to call them and tell them what has happened but their office manager Susan will not return our calls. All I was going to tell her is why we were no longer going to come to their clinic and that I do understand that sometimes doctors will make mistakes, but she will not even give my child compassion about what happened to him by returning my phone call. Shame on you, shame on you. I guess they will gladly take your money and time, but when they make a mistake they don't have the decency to say I'm sorry for a mistake that they made. We weren't even going to ask for our money back for our visit, I just wanted an apology. Now we are fighting the visit with our health insurance company to not give them a dime.

We had many problems with another local clinic and made the switch to LR Children's and we are so glad we did. Herbert, Ledbetter, Keathley, etc... Have all been so good to our daughter. I love this clinic and am so glad we switched. The staff is friendly and the nurses are kind.

I cannot speak for the entire clinic, but I can speak for Dr. Herbert. I am very surprised to be writing this review as I saw him as a patient up to age 21 and was excited to bring my daughter to him when I had my first child at the age of 24. Our daughter Olivia was born late May 2010. When she was born the one thing that I was dead set on as parenting goes was breastfeeding. Sadly that fell apart as she was very fussy during breastfeeding and would scream anytime I attempted to nurse her for no apparent reason. We met with lactation consultants who couldn't seem to figure out why she wouldn't nurse and suggested a suck & swallow study. Hoewever, she was losing weight quickly and we were forced to start some formula. Dr. Herbert seemed to think that the "nipple confusion" was overrated and thought there would be no problem if we started on a bottle. He really did not seem to care that I wanted to breastfeed. In fact, throught the first 4 months of her life he couldn't seem to remember during our visits if she was breastfeed or formula fed.

However, that is not even the part that is really concerning to us as parents. We continued to bring in our daughter as she was incredibly fussy, especially during her feedings, and would scream all day long. It was suggested that she was "colicy" or had reflux. Dr. Herbert prescribed medications for reflux. I was unconvinced and did my own research and started her on alimentum formula.

We made it to four months old when she started to have severe choking problems. It got to the point when my husband and I were afraid for our daughter's life every day. We couldn't feed her without the phone next to us to call 911. She would choke all day long. Dr. Herbert was unconcerned. He just said it was reflux and she would grow out of it. He assumed we were overly concerned first time parents.

After the four month well check when our daughter choked in front of the nurse on her rotovirus vaccine and the nurse clearly could tell something was wrong and told us she would talk to Herbert and contact us we expect things to change. Yet, we still heard nothing. At that point my husband and I started calling the office trying to contact the nurse on a daily basis. The staff treated us like we were just a nuisance. We never got calls returned. Finally we had to hand deliver a letter threatening to sue Dr. Herbert and his staff if a suck and swallow test was not urgently scheduled. It was scheduled for her today- one day after her 5 month birth date.

Today we found out that she has been aspirating on her bottles at every feeding since she was born. There may also be some reflux involved but the speech therapist said we were very lucky that she had made it this long without any serious problems. She said all of the symptoms she shows- watery eyes, raspy voice, CHOKING, are all signs of aspiration and can lead to pneumonia and ultimately death. We are very lucky our daughter is still with us.

Fortunately we did not listen to Dr. Herbert and took action on our own. I'm not sure what has happened to this pediatrician. I hope that he never causes any serious problems for these precious babies. Please do not take your children to see him!

If you can see Dr. Keathley this clinic is OK. The office staff is helpful and nice. The other doctors aren't as helpful as Keathley.

Little Rock Children's Clinic is an outstanding clinic with highly qualified physicans and nursing staff, who genuinely care for and about your child. The clinic also has a prompt, courteous and efficient reception staff as well. This is a busy clinic, but when calling for an appointment I might be placed on hold, but only for a brief moment. The clinic leaves appointment space open during the day and has never turned down my need for my children to see a physician on the day I am calling. It seems as if they do their very best to fit my children in when there is a need and their extended evening and Saturday hours are such a blessing. I also know that when I have placed a call to have the nursing staff call me back concerning an issue I am facing with my child, the nurse returns my call quickly and provides accurate information as well. The clinic has several pediatricians on staff, and we have been seen by each of them over the years. There isn't one that I wouldn't want my children to see. Another thing I appreciate about this cllinic is that the wait times in the waiting room area are minimal, with the occasional, but rare longer wait time.

I am certain I could elaborate further on the many qualities I appreciate about this clinic, but at the end of the day, I just appreciate their thoroughness, their efficiency, willingness to help and their compassionate nature in dealing with my children's illnesses.

If you are looking for a wonderful clinic that will provide your child the best possible care, I would highly recommend the pediatricians and the staff of Little Rock Children's Clinic.

I swiched to LR Children's Clinic and have been very pleased with them. The office is well-organized and appointments happen on-time. Also, unlike many other pediatric practices, the clinic will see you the same day. Just call first thing in the morning.
