I love going to this church. My Daughter and her family are regular members and we visit often form out of town. My husband and I are always come away with a blessed feeling. Our granddaughters go to the school and love attending there. I wish I could find a church like it in our area of northern Virginia.

After attending a small church in Norfolk for over 25 years, I decided it was time for a change. How refreshing it was to experience and enjoy the ministry and music at Atlantic Shores Baptist Church! The church has recently had a change in its senior pastor, but its ministries and programs are very well organized and very strong, and do not appear to be affected by the shift on its pastoral staff. The church has a very in-depth program of ministries going, in addition to a delightfully energetic children's ministry. Along with that, they are growing a broad, world-wide base of foreign missions programs. Also, they offer a lot of independent bible studies thru the week, which I found very helpful for folks who (like me) often have to work during traditional church times on Sundays. It's a friendly church, up-to-date technologically, and its members are very committed. A nice, solid, conservative church to visit or to grow in.

My family and I were looking for a new church and decided to try Atlantic Shores. I had heard they have a wonderful choir. That's true enough. They also have a great children's church. My daughters loved it there. My teenaged son was a bit put off by the teen church and I have to agree with him regarding the adult church as well.

This is a huge church, very organized and impressive when you first arrive. However, after listening to the sermon for a while, I was ready to go and never return. They have very strict beliefs there and I got the feeling that if you weren't on their side, you were on the Devil's. It's their way or the highway. I like to leave church feeling uplifted and hopeful, not depressed and dirty. I left there feeling like a terrible sinner. Not the church for me.

PROS: music, children's programs (altho they probably brainwash them)
CONS: fire and brimstone
