This office is the worst. They have dropped the ball on my child's care more than once. Dr. Penson sent my child home without a diagnosis, I took her to the ER that night where she was diagnosed with meningitis and hospitalized. Dr. Betancourt saw my daughter in July 2010 and ordered an x-ray to rule out scoliosis we are now in September 2011 and I still have not gotten the results from the office. My daughter has already had surgery to correct the 54 degree curve in her back. These are only two out of the many incidents. I guess caring for the patient stops when the doctor leaves the room.

This office is amazing!!! I can't understand any of the above reviews that are negative. My children had been going to Children's Med since 2006. We were first patients at the Tamarac office, but then as soon as Heron Bay opened, we became patients there (as this location was much closer to our residence). Anytime I ever needed a last minute appt., they fit me in immediately, call backs were within minutes, they were always helpful on the phone, during visits they sat with me until I had no more questions (I never felt rushed). The front staff is awesome, they are Nurse's are excellent, and the Doctor's are incredible. Dr. Sirota, Dr. Stavitsky, .... wonderful. Best experiences. Unfortunately we have moved out of state, and this was difficult for us, as I hoped and I hoped that I would find a practice just as good in our new place of residence. Well, we have found a good practice, but nothing will ever compare to Children's Medical.

I myself was a patient at Childrens Medical back in the 70's, and now all three of my girls go there. My oldest is 19. I would not trust my kids with any other practice! These people are amazing at what they do and there staff is above and beyond helpful. My only problem with them is the wait time in the waiting room. Yes sometimes it does take a long time there but when your dealing with children you never know what to expect. Also I find the doctors spend as long as needed with me to make sure all my questions are answered. Since the Heron Bay office has opened I find the wait is also shorter. I give them all five stars.

I agree with all the bad reviews. I been taking my oldest daughter there since1999 and i will be finding a different pediatrician office. Over the years the front desk clerks and back office clerks are soo rude, mean and they have bad attitudes. I hate even coming in or calling for any concerns i have. They are so un professionals, it takes for ever to see the doctors, u spen more time waiting then when you actually see them. The nurses can very really rude as well. I just so dissapointed and ready to get my kids out of there.

I would NOT recommend Children's Medical Association, P.A. to anyone! They have LOST my business!

Some Doctors consistently take personal phone calls in the exam room while conducting the exam, Doctors are rude to nurse assistants, and I have been told to hurry up and get my son dressed because they need the room for the next patient.

The last visit, (for my son's 15mth check up) I prepared my son's injection spot with EMLA cream (so he would not feel the needle) and requested the nurse place the injection inside a circle I drew on my son's thigh. At the beginning of the appointment I informed the nurse that I prepped my son's leg with EMLA cream and she remarked that it didn't work and I disagreed. Well, long story short, she took her dislike of me out on my son and injected him outside the indicated, pen-drawn areas on his legs causing him to scream. After the first injection, I asked her to place the shot in the center of the circle and literally, behind my back (I was facing my son and holding his arms) she injected him outside the circle again.

I brought the issue to the Doctor??s attention and he apologized to me but then began making excuses for his nurse??s actions by telling me they divide the leg into quadrants for the shot. However, my son received a total THREE shots; two shots in his left leg and one in his right leg. All three shirts were outside the circles that were over TWO inches in diameter!

The nurse intentionally hurt my child to spite me!

I complained to the office manager and she seemed concerned when I showed her the pen-drawn circles and the injection marks outside the circles. The office mgr said they would meet with the nurse to discuss the issue... As far as I know, the nurse was able to continue the rest of the day.

BEWARE! Your child could be next!

My two young boys have been going to the plantation office for just over a year now and it has been a terrible experience. This office is always overbooked. They have had 4 apts in the last year and wait at least an hour just to get back into the back where you wait even longer. It might be worth it the doctor actually spent any time in the room, but you wait an hour and a half for a good 2-5 mins. You're child will not receive thorough care and if they are young they will be screaming and in tears by the time they are done (even when they don't get shots ;).
Every time we are there we see some parent complaining at the desk about it-BEWARE

Everyone at Children's Medical Association is extraordinary. The nurses are very caring, the office staff is extremely helpful and the doctors are amazing. My child has seen 3 different doctors at this office so far and every one of them treats my child like he's the only child they see. As stated in a previous review, the waiting room isn't huge, but it has never been a problem for us. There doesn't seem to be too much overbooking so the waiting room has never been full during our visits. It is at least big enough to have separate rooms for both sick and well children. I highly recommend!!!

Children's Medical Association in Tamarac is located near University Hospital. These doctors are extraordinary! Every time I have visited, they take care of my child like one of their own. They have convenient after work hours and weekend hours for sick children and emergencies. The waiting room is small, but the care is excellent!
