Outback Adventures offers many trips, rentals, and equipment for purchase. Some of their trips include kayaking in La Jolla and Mission Bay, hiking/camping trips to Joshua Tree, and many more. Their equipment is high-quality, especially for the rental price, so I'd recommend them if you want to rent a tent for a weekend camping trip or a snowboard for a trip to Big Bear, etc.

Hidden in the ever growing UCSD Campus, Outback Adventures is a hidden gem that many students will never find or interact with. This organization/business's headquarters is in between Pepper Canyon and the Matthews Apartments in Sixth College. Whether it's rental gear such as tents or out door excursions/trips to Baja, Joshua Tree or other great places, this place has it all. With a friendly and helpful staff, both at the shop and on tours/trips it has been a great experience to do business with them. Personally I wish I had interacted with them sooner and maybe even send in an application but either way it's a good way to get outdoors or just to get some stuff for your own outdoor excursions.

Located on the UCSD campus, Outback Adventures is something I wish I had discovered earlier in my student career. Students and other UCSD Recreation card holders can rent equipment for climbing to snowboarding here are great prices. A little store is open for everyone to peruse and make purchases. I have rented a variety of equipment from the main store and joined a group on a day-long kayak outing on Mission Bay. Do not be deceived by the youthfulness of the staff. They are great professionals, highly knowledgeable and careful to always keep safety as the top priority. They also run a climbing facility by the Canyonview Pool that is worth a visit.
