IN 1987 I blew out my knee. At the time I didn't have insurance. The doctor who treated my put in an artificial ligament in my knee. He said he couldn't really fix it. I would have to wear a brace for the rest of my life.OR he could amputate. Not happy with the decision, I went to see another doctor. He gave me the same choices but added fusing my knee so I couldn't bend it. The problem was, I have other issues with my leg. One is Neurofibromatosis and Lympedema. When I moved to Dallas I saw an advertisement for a knee surgeon. That was when I first met Dr Maale. In 1992 Dr Maale did my knee replacement. It was the best thing that has ever happened to me medically. Last week I had to go to emergency room because of a knot in my leg. I no longer live in Dallas, but I made the trip just so I could be at the hospital he is affiliated with. When he cam in to see me in the ER he right away said I had to have surgery. I was not happy about it! But, I had great peace of mind knowing I was in the best possible care with Dr Maale. I am home recovering now. Still in pain, but at peace. Thank you God for giving Dr Maale such a wonderful gift.
PROS: Top in his field. Some people don't like his bed side manner. I love it. Tells it like it is
There are no cons. If I had to wait overnight to see him I would. Oh wait--I already have :)

I was diagnosed with aggressive fibromotosis in my right arm in 05 or 06 and wasted my time with other doctors who thought it was just an enlarged blood vessel in my right arm. Then i whent to Dr. Malle and he emmiadetly knew that it was aggressive fibromotosis and if you dont know how difficult it is to treat we tried radiation which helped a little bit and then finnally had to surgically removed it about 1 year later. And because the nature of aggressive firbromotosis it has come back and has a relapse rate of 35-50% in patients. Dr Malle is the best there is in treating this and my surgery whent smoothe and he is an incredible doctor blessed by God. If i lived in egypt i would travel half way around the world to see him. And also the doctor below him Dr. Cossas i believe is how you spell it is just as good and they all care for their patients with the utmost care and attention.

In the Fall of 2005, I found out I was pregnant with my third daughter. Two months into my pregnancy I started having significant pain in my left hip. My OB sent me to physical therapy throughout my pregnancy. One June 9, 2006 I gave birth to a healthy baby girl. One week later, on a Monday, I went to have my hip x-rayed. It was a very large bone tumor sitting on my right hip. It had destroyed almost half of my hip bone. I was sent that day to Dallas to meet with Dr. Maale on that Tuesday morning. I went thru many tests that week, until finally on Friday morning, I went in for surgery. This doctor saved my life. I totally believe that now. He removed the tumor from my hip, reconstructed my hip, and killed any of the infection left behind. It has been three years, and I am now pregnant with my fourth daughter. He is truly a life saver. And his staff are 100% professional. The nurses always return calls promptly, and give you the attention you deserve as a patient. You never feel insignificant, they treat you as if you are the only patient they have, when there are thousands. And I am sure each and every one of them feel the way I do. Highly recommended.

We met Dr. Maale in 1994 when my then 13 year old daughter was diagnosed with a chondrosarcoma/osteosarcoma. He scared me when he said she had cancer but said, "Thank God he gave you this type of cancer because when I take it out it will be gone". Well, it was. She went through many tests to make sure there was just one place where the disease was and then 2 surgeries. The first was supposed to be the only one however the pathologist and Dr. Maale could not agree on the degree of the cancer so they closed and sent the biopsy to the Mayo Clinic for the determination of level of cancer. He did not want to do more surgery than was necessary to correct the problem. 2 weeks later the surgery was performed, a limb surgery where she needed bone grafts and physical therapy. She recovered well and has been cancer free for 13 years. Dr. Maale is a great person and great physician with a great staff. He is a hard person and expects a lot from his patients but has a caring heart underneath that face. He brought his son to the hospital on rounds when we were recovering. The down side is the fact he is so very very sought out and busy that the wait time is long in the waiting room and exam room. I very much like Presbyterian Hospital, their staff and all they did for us during this time. I was a single mother raising two children and the hospital recognized my needs stepping in to help us even though we had insurance coverage. A True Blessing-Dr. Maale, Kim, Bonnie and so many others along with Presbyterian Hospital. We thank you greatly again 13 years later.

Until I had my first child a few years ago, I worked for Dr. Maale for over 7 years. Dr. Maale is a fabulous physician. I was proud to be a member of his team. His expectations of his employees and patients is high, but since he gives 110% he expects those around him to do so as well. He handles cases that no other physician will touch and has helped so many people through the years lead disease-free lives. He works his fingers to a bone so that he can help as many people as he can. Most doctor's offices will make you wait for a a new patient appointment for months-Dr. Maale will take you within a week most of the time. He will work you in when an emergency arises and makes exceptions, unlike most doctors. He truly cares about his patients and giving them the best life possible. He is truly top notch. There are many reasons why he was so deservedly named one of Dallas-Ft. Worth's top physicians a few years ago!

Dr. Maale is one of the best and the brightest physicians I have ever met. He is compassionate and he knows every detail about my case. He is extremely efficient and goes through great lengths to use the resource base of physicians at Presbyterian Hospital for diagnostic purposes. I would travel form any where in the world to see Dr. Maale. He has the "right stuff"

I was about 15 years old when Dr. Maale removed my tumor. He was so nice and knowledgeable. He went through every step of the process to make sure that my mother and I had nothing to worry about. He took away our worries and panic. He is an awesome doctor, and I am excited about seeing him again- I'm going in for a check-up.

In 1993 I was referred to Dr. Maale for osteomylytis of left femur. Dr Maale had to rebuild my femur and he also killed the infection that no-one else could even touch. He has different and better approaches to repairing the human body and they work. He saved my left leg and probably my life. He is tough and expects his patients to do what he tells them . In my opinion, he is the greatest Dr. in his field. I wasted six months with another doctor and Dr. Maale had me up and going in 4 months. Trying to get an appointment is hard but it is worth the wait . He is in-fact a modern day miracle worker.

Dr. Maale was recommended to me as the best in his field. When I saw him for a highly unusual problem, he asked my permission to discuss my case at a regular meeting with other doctors in the field. He applied the results of the brainstorming session to my care, trying approaches that other doctors had never attempted. I found significant relief for my pain that I had never experienced before. The only downside is that the waits are very long and the office staff is not very sympathetic.

PROS: Highly regarded in his field, willing to consult on my case
CONS: Very long waits

Dr. Maale is a great surgeon. He specialize in tumors and cancer. His works speak for itself. It's very hard to get an appointment with him and most of the time you will need to get a referral. He is one of the top surgeon in Dallas. His staffs are wonderful. His office is at Dallas Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. You will have to pay for parking when seeing him.
