Im pretty sure one of the requirements to work here is "must be extremely rude and trashy" ALL of the people that work here are extremely rude. If the director was smart he would fire them ALL and hire ALL new people. SO many nice and caring people out there are looking for jobs!!!!! They truly don't care about these dogs, Save these dogs from these terrible people

I am visiting my aunt in the Tampa area and, on a walk with her two dogs, I saw this adorable 8-wk old puppy tied to a stake under a small tree on a chain about 3 feet long. I called a few numbers to see if it was considered animal cruelty/neglect and how/where to report them. On a Saturday, no one answered unless it was a definite emergency (I did not know how long the pup was or would be out there), so no help until my aunt called on Monday.

Renee was incredibly rude to my aunt and when told that she wasn't being very sympathetic and that my aunt wanted to talk to Renee's supervisor, she asked why she needed to be sympathetic (um, because a puppy is laying out in this heat maybe for days and is not moving!) and said "whatever" and then put my aunt on hold. Oddly enough, the line went busy after a couple minutes.

Needless to say, my aunt called and asked for a supervisor. Tom Green was very nice and accepted all of the information as well as the comment's about Renee's atrocious skills (not my aunt's words). We hope they will come today to check on this puppy down the street and that he will find a loving home with a family who understands the needs of living creatures.

We have had some dealings with them and the gentlemen are very courteous and kind. They are very overworked and spread very thinly and we had some problems with them coming back to help us.

The Department of Animal Services accepted my application to adopt one of their german shepherd puppies and I immediately fell in love with her. If anyone is looking to adopt a dog or cat then this is the place to go since they pick up and shelters stray animals that need a loving home. They also offer spay and neuter vouchers to pet owners who have their animals spayed or neutered so I was able to save money when I had my dog spayed at Vetcare Animal Hospital. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a pet to visit this shelter and give them the opportunity to show you the animals they have for adoption before you go to a pet shop and buy one.
