Now this is frustrating. There is a "Crown Jewelers" in Texas that doesn't get rated very high. They have a slick website, and when you enter "Crown Jewelers Portland" in Google (as I did) you get the links to them. Ah, but there is ALSO a Crown Jewelers in Portland, Oregon (actually in Clackamas, a suburb of Portland). Small place, owned and operated by two brothers. Their customers love them. I've had my Bulova watch serviced there, and give them 5 stars due to the terrific care they gave me. If you see a poor review here, be sure to check to see which Crown Jewelers is being rated.

I gave Crown Jewelery a 2 only because we did receive our money back. My fiance purchased what I thought was going to be the ring of my dreams online and on the night he proposed I noticed there was a small diamond from the engagment ring missing. He e-mailed Crown Jewelers that following Monday to see what the process was to have it fixed, they stated he would have to mail the ring back (the store is in Texas we're in California) and they would supply the return label and then they would mail it back after it was fixed about 7 days not including shipping time. I asked my fiance to find out what we do if this happens again and Crown said "we dont warranty our jewelery". So basically if another diamond did fall out we would have to pay for a new diamond! I've never heard of a jewelery store not having warranties on their jewelery! We had 30 days to return it so I called to have a return authorization sent to me as this is the only way they will accept your return. I received the return number in an email that I was told to just "print out the email and put it in the box" I didnt feel that this was the way it should have been handled they should have a certain form you fill out not just off an email. Crown told me over the phone and in the email I HAD to send it insured for the price of the ring which came out to be $101.00 (and to which they dont credit you the cost for shipping) or they would not refund my fiance's money! I then was told it would take 2-3 business days after they received the ring to issue a credit back to my fiance's check card. It took almost a week after they received the ring to issue the money to which I wasnt even sure they would! Please, Please if you do purchase something from Crown buy something that if it breaks or you lose a diamond you're not going to have to pay out of your pocket extra money to replace!! p.s the quality of the jewlery is NOT even good especially for the price!!!

After 3 weeks a diamond fell out the $600 earrings when we were cleaning them. They are a pave setting and where the diamond fell out is basically a hole in the earring. They said they dont have a warranty for items breaking so they cannot be replaced. They can be repaired if I send them back with the diamond (I honestly cant see how it can be fixed, and there are about 50 tiny diamonds in each earring, ctw 1.0) but I have to prepay for them to ship back to me as well. Not happy

These guys are amazing, very honest with their customers. I got my wife's engagement ring there and they put it together--great diamond with the perfect setting. Combine that with a 'lifetime' cleaning service on the ring and you can't help but say that this store genuinely cares about their customers, at the time of purchase and beyond.
