I've always liked going to the Colonial and I just don't remember the seats being uncomfortable as mentioned below. I've always had good experiences there and great shows

I have to agree with the reviewer who mentioned the tiny seats at the Colonial. I've been to several shows at the Colonial and while each was outstanding, I think I would have enjoyed myself a lot less if I were taller than I am (5'2). The seats are absolutely tiny, leftover from whenever the theater was built. You will be cramped up and pressed into the person sitting next to you so definitely go with friends or, better yet, a date. Still, the Colonial is worth it, as it has some of the best shows in Boston. You can also get discounted day-of tickets for shows here at the kiosk in Faneuil Hall. For that, you can put up with a little discomfort, right?

This is a great old theater, dating back to 1900 located in the heart of Boston's Theater district. They are host to "Broadway in Boston" with many top notch-popular shows right off Broadway.
the box office hours are:
Monday through Saturday (non-performance days): 10am - 6pm. Sunday(non-performance days): Closed
Tuesday through Saturday (performance days): 10am -1/2 hour after advertised curtain time.
Sunday(performance days): Noon - 1/2 hour after curtain time
Sunday(during matinee performance): Noon - 6pm

Although I have enjoyed many shows there, My husband has not. Reason being, he is 6'3" and the seats are very close together, rows are narrow. They are however in the midst of renovation so maybe it's being changed. They are also handicapped accessible.
