It is with my deepest regret to inform any student and parent that this charter school is a digrace.. Do not ..I repeat do not fall for the deception..When you are a parent who speaks up for whats right ,your child suffers.. I am taking my complaints straight to the state and federal agencies,,For all of those children who experienced these hardships..Do not worry Williamsburg Charter will be exposed.

I am a former teacher who resigned last year from the science department. The first thing you should know is that the first graduating class overall hated the school and wanted to leave. Fights would break out just as often as regular high school and the graduating class was so small that students were given 10 tickets for family and friends..the graduation rate was around 80% thanks to summer school but only about 67% of the initial kids who started in the school as freshmen graduated as seniors. Reasons for this vary from getting expelled, transferring to another school, to simply not meeting requirements. As a teacher in this school i noticed that my colleagues were practicing horrible teaching methods. A period didn't go bye without a student getting a referral or a detention and other times the teachers were join in child mischief and i was absolutely stunned when i heard a few teachers cursing at students. The students were so used to the teacher cursing that they saw it as okay and even labeled the teachers as "cool" and "real". The school even went against board of education protocol when they would expel students without first giving them a school to go to. I resigned from the school not because of it salary because of any problems i had with the CEO; but because i wanted to work in a school that would have an impact on students life and make them not only learn academic lessons but life lessons as well. The school appeared to fulfill my dream, but after 4 years of seeing unqualified teachers come and go and students who needed support let down i just couldn't be part of that system any longer. I mean the situations which were being established and enabled in the school was absolutely unimaginable. One thing i know for certain is that this establishment will not last very long, i mean the schools statistics are mingling with failure, despite the AP and honors society students success, which i am extremely delighted and proud of.

I went here for a while. It's a great place to learn. The School is not really that up to date computer wise. Most of the teachers are nice and love learning, while some others seem like they would rather be someplace else. Overall I had a good experience. I like that the school is really tolerant of religous beliefs and lets you practice your religion. I have seen some schools where they don't care if you have a holiday or something and you would get into trouble if you missed a day. I have heard that the school has gotten even better now.
