Thought I might add to the above submissions. I see Dr. Kazmi for primary care. I've been to her clinic three times this summer. Of course the wait was over an hour w/ an appointment, the waiting room was beyond capacity, the reception mildly hostile and completely overburdened, and the general level of service mediocre. Nonetheless, when I did get to the doctor she was professional, courteous and very helpful. This clinic signed me up to 'metro plus' coverage, via a sweet polish lady battling with the english language. Acquiring insurance due to my economic status was somewhat heartening. Thank you New York for that.

Now, having to visit Woodhull Hospital in order to receive my Rx from their dispensary was another animal altogether. It's was a disturbing introduction to urban health care at its worst.
Full on hollywood ghetto mayhem people! I waited my turn with 50 other people with sheets of paper awaiting pills from very lethargic, imprisoned acting pharmacists. I felt lucky when I got my RX for $2, swiftly walked thru hordes of people, very sick ones waiting, babies &mothers, very fat people, very old people, my fellow americans, trash, security guards, bums,
addicts, busy pedestrians jumping from the trains and sidewalks, then got back to Greenpoint feeling like I just went thru a little war.

God help the man or woman who can fix our Healthcare, pray for it!

I was severely burned one morning (3rd degree to @ 12 square inches of my leg) flesh ripped off, seething pain, etc..

I originally went to my regular doctor, and was told to immediately go to the emergency room at Woodhull. (it was a few blocks away) Well, I did, and sat there for 5 hours, without seeing a single medical professional the entire time. That place was disaster, and I will be lucky if I did NOT catch a staph infection from just sitting on the seats in the waiting room. The overcrowded waiting room was filled with junkies, drunks, thugs, mental patients, Worker's Comp scammers, people who use hospitals as a doctor's office, and elderly people who really needed attention. It was truly horrifying.

It became MORE than apparent after 3 hours that my physical and biological safety were at risk. I began to ask questions about wait times and procedures. Nothing is computerized and the staff were too busy trying to manage paper and hostile degenerates; it was clear that I was in jeopardy (for a number of reasons). Not a sinlge person asked to see the horrific wound I have... My temperature, BP, and weight were recorded by a staff member. that's it.

The place if so poorly managed; no information was available regarding wait times, where people were meant to go, and hostility was abound. I was on a waiting list to go to the Trauma Unit. Guess what... The trauma unit consists of a 14x14 open room with 7 gurneys, one nurse, and one doctor.

After 5 hours, I left in tears due to excruciating pain, fear, and mild shock from my injury .. Horrific.

I came here twice, out of convenience of the location and the fact that I don't have a regular doctor. Once I was coughing so much I literally could not breath (or talk). After waiting 2 hours I was told nothing was wrong, and there was nothing they could do. The second time I had pink eye, and was again told pink eye is untreatable. Then, I was charged $600 dollars for the visit. Dr. Kazmi is awful, and I will NEVER come to this clinic again.

I liv in the neighborhood and hav been goin there for about 2 years. First for my baby then for myself. The ped. doc there of the name devita is very nice, but unfortunatley there doctors never stay long. Which I dislike. I would feel comfortable going to a ped. for my baby who knows his condition and medical history. They are always changing docs. And for the adults the services are horriable. I never get a phone call on my test results and just to know if there normal or not you hav to make an appointment, which is almost always difficult to get. You can never ever get one on the same day, always the following week and only on wednesdays. So if i get sick i cant come in?! Its truly ridiculous. When you call the front desk always hangs up on you because they dont want to talk to you or they tell u to hold and then hang up. It makes someone feel awful and for a medical office, its not right way of conduct. The doctors there only spend approx. 5 mins w/you and never have answered any of my questions. I'm extremely disppointed. The only reason i have to continuosly go there is because of the insurance i have. I definately would not recommend anyone to trust their health in the hands of this healthcare facility.

I have been here a lot of times in the past. The nurses and staff are usually very good. I love this one nurse named sophia. The place is modern and up to date. They are located on the first floor. The doctors here are mostly good. My mom and I did have a problem with one doctor. She kept on misdiagnosing my mom and when we used to tell her about some symtoms she would say,oh thats normal and its part of getting older. I think people know when something is wrong and not normal. My mom ended up having unneccesary emergency surgery for the problem that the doctor kept saying was normal. I don't reccomend going to this doctor whose name I think is Tahmina. She Probably changed her last name.Other than that the place is good and clean. The services are nice and you can usually get an appointment on short notice.
