I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE DELI AT THE BOISE CO-OP if you want PESTICIDE FREE, HERBICIDE FREE, GENETICALLY MODIFIED FREE food.

Although the Boise Co-Op could be considered above average as a grocery store, with ORGANIC and GOURMET items, a MACRO-BIOTIC section and lots of good things - I believe it has a SERIOUS FLAW, in that it has:

An EXPENSIVE deli that prepares NON-ORGANIC Dishes and Sandwiches, Etc.

With the information available on the HARMFULNESS OF NON-ORGANIC FOODS, I choose not to partake.

At least they could offer SOME food that is ORGANIC in their Deli.

PLEASE LEAVE A NOTE FOR BOISE CO-OP MANAGEMENT AND DEMAND ORGANIC CHOICES AT THE DELI.

This negative review can be changed to a positive one, when the Boise Co-op gets ORGANIC choices in it's Deli.

Boise Co-op is a trendy grocery store in the North End. They carry organic foods and products. The wine selections is pretty large. They have a deli with outrageously high prices. They have some nice things but you have to spend a fortune to get a few things. This is a neat place to look around. You can find lots of herbal products here and stuff you can't find anywhere else.

I don't think I ever found an "off time" at this store to avoid the crowds and lack of parking. It is a fun store to just browse through and the help is great.

PROS: Fun, neat stuff.
CONS: Bad parking.

The Boise co-op (which is also open to people without a membership) is a great place to find organic produce and meats as well as specialty cheeses and wines. Additionally, they have things like cards, Le Cruset, cleaners and other household furniture/decorative items. Friendly, helpful staff. Parking can be tight, but is worth the effort, and they even have attendants help park cars. The prices are pretty steep and if you don't have a membership, they tack on an extra 10%, but you are paying for the quality of the items. I use my Boise State student ID and get the member price. They also carry my favorite brand of coffee, Peet's!

The employees are so helpful and friendly to help you find what you are looking for. They have so many variety and foods, wines, etc from all different countries. But what is really great is that they sell a lot of local products and fresh produce.
