pinks

by Sasha D. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 109

im not a huge fan on hot dogs but pinks is supposedly the best around. it is "world famous" and there is always, i mean always, a line outside no matter what time of day.

Crunchy Hotdogs

by Emilia A.

Okay, its a hot dog stand. Sure the line is long and the parking is bad but overall its a fun place to hang out. I met some very nice people. I tried a Houser Dog. I ordered and then watched as the person made the wrong dog. I requested a change and they made it, not very happy but made it. Loved the crunchy skin on the dog. At first I thought that was onion or something else but it was the dog. The sauce was good, not great but good. The coleslaw was good. The service was very fast and the best thing of all is that Pink's donates most of their profits.

Cheap Eats

by Diana G. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,437

This is one of the places you have to visit in LA. Not for the food but it is a great place to people watch. The hot dogs, hamburgers and other fattening fare is good, along with old fashioned bottled soda but you never know when a celebrity will stop by.

A Long Wait for a Bad Hot Dog

by Richard C. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 9,147

So I also went to Pink's because of its famous hot dog. It really wasn't that great. I don't know why it would be. And everytime I drive by the place, there's such a long line for it. I guess its one of those things everyone should try just once. But thats about it. Its super unhealthy and not better than one you can make yourself. Its just all a bunch of hype. I definitely would not recommend.

The lines here are freakin' RIDICULOUS!!!!

by Tee T. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,626

Ok, when I first moved here 5 years ago, I saw the long longs for the hot dogs here. And then I read the "Best Of" every year and there s Pink's. Ok, so I stood in the long *ssed line and finally got my hands on 2 (just in case it was that good-I wasn't about to stand in line again). I got plain ones, I wanted to taste the dog itself, nto the chili, sauerkraut or anything else.

It was a freakin' HOT DOG. I've stood in line in NYC gladly for Gray's Papaya. In that "Fools Rush In" movie with Selma Hayek, you can see why she flew it in for that Friends dude. Not these. I dont' get it. And you can even end up having your car parked to get one, the parking here STINKS!!! It's so bad that they had to out up signs to tell you not to park your car right in front where it would make sense to because there is no parking there most of the time. Then their shoebox of a parking lot stinks and you can't park by the flower shop next to it, either.

Go to Weinerschneitzel, it's the same thing and you can stay in your car.

PROS:
CONS: NO HOT DOG IN L.A. IS WORTH AN HOUR OR MORE WAIT
