We love the St. Louis Zoo. It is world class with a large variety of animals. The zoo is pretty big so it is hard to see it all in one day. Since they do not have an entrance fee that is not a problem you can go more often. We ended up paying for a zoo membership but thought it was worth it because you get coupons for free things like free parking in the main lot (there is free parking areas but sometimes it is hard to find a spot), free train rides and other freebies. This zoo is much worth the visit it you live in the area or are just passing through.

This is a perfect place to take your family for the day. There are plenty of opportunities to sit and relax (like the sea lion show) and get enough energy to keep on going. They have a cute little butterfly house with a lot of great information on bugs. The kids always love that. They also have a great children's zoo. My grandson adores playing with the goats there...and could do that alone for at least an hour. Worth the trip!!

The St. Louis Zoo is hands down one of the best parts of the city. The Zoo is located in beautiful Forest Park. Admission is free to the public. The Zoo has a wide range of animal inhabitants from okapi to gorillas to sea lions. The Zoo is kept up very well and is a beautiful place to visit. It has a special section dedicated to local animals and a section dedicated to the animals of the savannah. My favorite part of the Zoo is the sea lion area. It is fun to watch the sea lions play. The Zoo also has a petting zoo and an Insectarium, each of which has an entry fee.

This place is HUGE! Plan your trip as an all day outting because that is what you will need to walk through the zoo.......all day. There are benches placed throughout the zoo so you can take breaks. With totally free admission, this place can't be beat. And even the things that you pay for such as food, giftshop, etc., are not all that expensive. Definitely a great place to take the whole family! Make sure to take the camera so you can make a scrapbook of all the animals.

The St. Louis zoo is an amazing zoo and it is free. You just can't beat it. The exhibits are amazing - especially the Penguin houses. Liek nothing I have ever seen before. The grounds are kept especially clean as well as the bathrooms. If you are going for the day - make sure to look at the all day pass - you get a great deal on the things that they do charge for such as the children's zoo and train, etc.

On a sunny afternoon in spring or fall (not summer, TOO hot), it's great to visit the zoo. It's free, which is amazing in and of itself, but it's also quite a nice quality zoo. You can pay extra and go on the train or carasol, but it's really not necessary. They just totally re-vamped the giant bird cage that you can walk around in. Also, last year the giraffe had a baby, so you can see one of those (unique!). I'd highly reccomend visiting.

PROS: free
CONS:

For a free zoo, this place has everything. Most of the facilities have been recently remodeled and look great. There is an added cost for the kids zoo (petting zoo). Pretty much deserted in the winter.

PROS: free, lots to see and do
CONS: subject to the elements (weather)

The zoo is very nice, very well kept. Admission is free, but if you can't find street parking you'll have to pay a parking fee. I enjoyed watching the seals (sea lions?) because it was feeding time, so we watched them do this-n-that for their food. Also, this zoo boosts line dancing penguins!! You need to see it for yourself.

The St. Louis Zoo is a world class zoo not only for kids but also for adults. Its difficult to see the entire zoo and one should plan a full day to see everything or if you live close, just check out a couple of exhibits. Admission is also free (although it does cost extra to ride the train or get into the petting zoo). There is ample pay parking available or limited free parking is usually available on the side roads.

My family loves to visit the zoo. It is located in Forest Park, which is really a beautiful area. The zoo is well maintained and admission is free. My family has been a member of the zoo friends club for several years which gets you free parking and admission to the childrens zoo, the train and much more. You have to check out the new carousel, it's great!

The St. Louis Zoo is a nice way to spend any day with your kids, your spouse or just by yourself. They have a wide variety of animals and the penguin house is really cool (pun intended). You can walk into a very chilly house and become one with the penguins and since they are my favorite animal, it is my favorite part about the zoo.
It is also a great place to have catered banquets with wonderful service and good food.

The St Louis Zoo is one of the most underrated zoos in the US. Most other zoos of this class charges high admission to enter. In St Louis, the zoo is free to the public. My personal favorite is the monkey house. If you don't mind the smell, the monkeys there usually put on a good show. I especially like feeding time where the feeders/trainers try their best to give viewers a good view of all the animals.

PROS: Great place to bring family as well as out of town guests
CONS:

The St Louis Zoo is the best Zoo to go to. It is free adminssion and the variety of animals can't be beat. There is a childrens zoo that you can go in for a small cost. You can take food and snacks with you to make it a family outing that is very affordable. The train, again for a small fee, is wonderful. Kids love to get on the train and see the sights. I would highly recommend the St Louis Zoo to anyone.

Our zoo is fabulous - the best attraction in the city and, best of all, it is free!! Park in Forest Park back by the Living World building and have a picnic lunch in any of the tables around the area.

We love to go to the zoo. It's free to get in, but it does cost to get into the Children's zoo. The kids can take a train ride, and they think that is great. We love to see the penguins in the summer b/c it's great to cool down in there. They also offer zoo memberships which is definitely worth it if you'll be going a couple of times a year- it includes free parking, free trainrides, and free admission into the children's zoo.

What can I say this is one of the best places to take the kids in St. Louis. It's free and there is so much to see you won't know where to start. The pengins are one of our favorites especially during the summer when it is hot, because it is nice and cool inside. Make sure you plan on spending the day so you can see everything. You can even bring food and drinks in so you can even have lunch while you are there. My family love going here so check it out for yourself.
