Dr. Miguel Damien

Thanks to Dr. Damien, I am 8 weeks pregnant! My husband and I are so thankful to Dr. Damien for helping us get pregnant, after two failed IUI at another clinic. Dr. Damien is extremely knowledgeable, and unlike the previous clinic (who was unaggressive both times and seemed more money hungry than helpful) really got to the root of our infertility issue, solved it so that our first IUI was a success! We were pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the finances were, and how compassionate Dr. Damien was to work with us so that we concentrated on the procedure and not on the financial stress. We highly recommend Dr. Damien as he really is a miracle worker - and that really is the overall feeling from his other patients that I have met!!

Thanks to IVF and Dr. Damien I have two perfect children. Now 8 and 6 years old, I never had a better experience with any doctor in my life. He explained everything to the letter. Even the entire staff was caring, professional, and concerned for my husband and I. They even handled the finances, as to make things easy for us so we could concentrate on the procedures that we were going through. I would recommend him to anyone who wants a baby and is having trouble. I am sorry for anyone that has had complications, but remember that every one is different, heals differently, and bodies react differently. My experience was beyond excellent!

I did not have to have surgery but did do IVF with Dr Damien. I did an IUI 3 years ago and had my first baby, I tried 4 IUIs this time but they did not work, I am 38 now and did not want to waste anymore time so we did an egg retrieval - we got 5 eggs and had 3 put back and now are waiting for our second baby in August. I think he is a good guy who is very direct. He does seem busy but I think this means that people know he is a good doctor and so a lot of women will come to seek his services.

I had surgery by Dr Damien 6 months ago for endometriosis and have nothing but good things to say- not only did I stop having pain during my periods - that I had for 15 years - I got pregnant 2 months after the surgery. My recovery was OK, I felt pretty bad for 2 days but went back to work no problem in Monday. We are due in October and credit Dr Damien with everything. I am not sure what happened to this girl Kim but three of my other friends went through the same thing as me and they all got pregnant too after surgery - one for a fibroid and two for endometriosis.

I just returned from Atlanta, Georgia where I had a follow up laparoscopy because of the pain I was feeling since my last one with Dr Damien. The doctor found that my ovary was completely stuck, my bladder was adhered to my uterus and my bowels were completely adhered to my intestines. The previous surgery caused scar tissue that adhered my iternal organs together. If anyone suggests laser surgery to you, do your homework. Patients should be warned of the real risk of adhesions.

I have had nothing but major complications following surgery for endometriosis by Dr Damien. It has been four months since my surgery and it has been a nightmare for me. He does not explain his procedure before the surgery. He fills your abdomen with saline after surgery which is not common practice among any endometriosis specialists. When I went back to him for my follow up and explained the problems that I was having he said to me that I should not be having problems because"he fixed me" and that "I was never satisfied." Last week I went to an endometriosis specialist in New York and during an internal exam he could feel the endometriosis that was left during the previous surgery. He said that even the op report of my surgery was filled out wrong and had very little detail written in it. Dr Damien also left a fibroid inside me because he claimed that it was impossible to remove through laparoscopy and that I would need a laparotomy to remove it. The specialist in New York said that it was quite possible to remove it during a laparoscopy. Now four months since my surgery with Dr Damien and being in constant pain(which I did not have prior to surgery) I am facing surgery again. Dr. Damien is on the cutting edge for infertility treatment. He thoroughly discusses the issues with the patient and spouse and does plenty of testing. He is also listens to the patient and is willing to tailor the treatment based on their concerns. Billing practices are good although they are expensive as are all fertility specialists.

PROS: Up to date on fertility treatment
CONS: Expensive
