The Art Theater is very inexpensive family entertainment. It is in desperate need of remodeling, because of the duct taped seats and chipping walls. Picture quality and sound quality is still decent in the movie. The price for refreshments and tickets is unbeatable and some how this old deteriorating building still has some charm left.

Located on the main strip through town the Art Theater is a charming part of Hobart history. Opened in 1941 they draw a great crowd due to the $3 ticket price and the $1 refreshments. The movies come out about a month after theyre released but saving so much makes it worth the wait. The place resembles how it did back then with some tape and duct tape covering the bad spots, and is in desperate need of a facelift. While theres only one screen and the place appears to be falling apart, there is definite potential here for something wonderful. This is a perfect place to take kids when you arent sure if theyll sit through the entire movie, my 5 year old and I do a movie a month here and when she gets bored its no big deal to leave.
