The already prominent OGGI has become an even more reputable salon due to the new merger with TABU ( previously located on 3rd and Chestnut). TABU has brought over many extremely skilled hair stylist, notably Tobi. He has been cutting my hair for the past several years now and it seems that every new haircut that he gives me is his best. He understands exactly how I want my hair to be cut and he performs it in a remarkably timely fashion. On the not-so-unusual occasion that I can't decide what style I want, I always rely on Tobi to "do his thing." All in all, I'd say that the new TABU-OGGI merger has created an excellent salon that I would highly recommend to others.

Reno is a real artist when it comes to working with hair. I love the cuts he has given me over 18 years and he is AMAZING with color! I wouldn't go anywhere else. As for price, Oggi is worth every penny. Whether blown dry or tumbled out of a sleeping bag my hair looks chic. Always. It's ALL in the cut. He's a Master!

I have been going to Henry every 4-5 weeks for many years.He is wonderful & very enthuastic. The entire staff is very friendly. I truly do not understand any remarks about Jo Ann.She has always been warm and friendly to me. The salon is very busy but she always goes out of way to be nice. My husband insists on going with me:Henry,Jo Ann & Richard have always been especially nice to him also!

I've been a regular at Oggi (where I followed Charles) for years now. He's da bomb, and I always love that he knows what to do with my hair. He knows to push me when I might not want to try something and when to keep it conservative. I have literally been stopped by strangers on the street after appointments only to have them ask where I got my hair done. it's that good. From time to time, I've tried other salons (usually because Charles couldn't see me and I needed a cut desperately). No one else comes close. I should say that all the cuts and styles I've seen walk out of the salon look great. The Customer Service is quite friendly -- don't let the demeanor of the front desk put you off. They are actually very nice -- it's just staffed with people who honestly have a look like they are always frowning. It's literally only skin-deep, and once they know you, it's fine. The only thing standing between this review and 5 stars is the decor, which was great in the 90s, but which could use an updating. The place is always super-clean, but it's starting to look like a salon from the set of "Friends." A little change (and larger coffee cups) would be much appreciated.

Like many other reviewers here, I followed Cynthia from Pileggi (once I tracked her down after several meh haircuts elsewhere), and I will NOT let her slip off my radar again; in fact, I live in DC now and nevertheless find it well worthwhile to make the commute for a cut, as I did just this weekend. I liked the first cut she gave me a lot, but after only a short time I came to feel like she has an uncanny instinct for, not only the particularities of my hair, but also my mood and my circumstances (e.g. "I have a job interview at this sort of place" or "I am trying to seduce this sort of person" or "I have no time for styling these days"). Let's just say she's called it EXACTLY right in each case. (And Cynthia if you happen to read these things, this last cut totally tipped the scales in my favor! Tell you all about it next month...) I just wish I could recreate the styling she adds at the end, it never looks quite so secksy as when she does it. One more thing: I have never, ever, had haircuts that stay looking good for so long. As to the "vibe" of the place? Look: if they do a fantastic job, I don't really care whether the person who cuts my hair, washes it, rings up the bill, answers the phone, etc., is nice or polite or a freakazoid from outer space; that said, I've had nothing but pleasant experience at Oggi in all regards, and especially with Cynthia who is just a sweetheart in addition to being a genius of all things hair. They, and she, are professional, pleasant (which is different from obsequious), and cool without being pretentious. I recommend Oggi, and in particular Cynthia, most strongly and without reservation.

I have been following Cynthia for nearly a decade. My hair is an important accessory, and Cynthia never fails to bring out its beauty. She takes time with me to really understand the image I want to project and nails it every time! What a confidence booster! Her haircuts even grow out into amazing new dos. I don't know how she does it, but at this point I don't even have to tell her what I want, she knows and I am NEVER disappointed. I have referred at least a dozen of my friends and family to her and each one has stayed on as a loyal client. Go Cynthia!!!

I went to another high end salon in Rittenhouse only to be left with a lopsided haircut. I informed my stylist one side seemed longer than another and he clipped a few hairs and sent me on my way. When I got home and looked in the mirror one side was obviously still longer than the other. I decided to call Oggi Salon as I had bought product there earlier in the week and explained the situation and they fit me even though it was the end of the day on Saturday. Richard did a wonderful job correcting the other stylist's mistakes and was very friendly as well. I plan to see him again. Thanks to Richard and Oggi!

I agree with the other positive reviews of Cynthia. I have followed her around for about 8 years and will continue to do so. She is an amazing stylist and the only person I have found who knows how to properly cut and color my curly hair. She loves her work and has a fun loving attitude. I'm always excited to see her.
Her work speaks for itself.

I had to share my experience about Oggi Salon's Cynthia Peditto. I followed her from Pileggi. For many years I would leave salons disappointed, when I first went to Cindy, she spent time with me, discussing my hair color, texture, my face shape. We talked about my career & lifestyle, the image I was looking to project, amount of time I had getting ready, etc. She asked me to name/point out celebrities whose hair/look I admired, and she thoroughly discussed with me her ideas and what she planned to do. She did not disappoint. My whole head and hair have never looked so good. I frequently get compliments about my hair (this NEVER happened to me before.) Obviously, I am a big fan of Cindy and her ability to listen well, her fine skills as a hair cutter and brilliance as a colorist. She's a natural.
Cindy, herself, has a mane of red, curly locks. Her personality buzzes with fun and energy. When I leave her salon, I feel like I have been infused with a bolt of energy and I leave looking my best and feeling like I can do anything.
While Cindy's look is edgy and current, she doesn't project her look onto others (unless that's what you're looking for). She does what the person in the chair wants.
As for the salon, it is big and bright. At first, it may seem intimidating, but everyone there is very friendly and wants to make your visit a nice pampered one.
Let's face it, salons are expensive. When I go, I want to feel like my expectations have been superceded. Cindy and the Oggi staff make me feel like I made the best choice. And, I keep going back!

A girlfriend who had been seeing Cynthia for years directed me to Oggi when I needed to find a new stylist. I used to sport very short hair, and Cynthia is amazing with short do's. When I decided to go long again, she successfully got me through what might have otherwise been the "awkward phases" of growing my hair out. I have consistently received compliments on my hair--at every length--thanks to Cynthia. She's a dream--incredibly talented and giving a level of attention to detail that would make Martha Stewart proud. She's also got a great memory and is hilariously funny.

Cynthia and the entire staff at Oggi are wonderfully professional, gracious and highly talented. I cannot be happier with my experience with Oggi--and, most especially--Cynthia.

PhillyGalaxy has it all wrong. I?ve been going to Cynthia fro years and have always had a great experience. She is enthusiastic about her work and she is a fabulous stylist and tkes the time to listen to what you want and the look your trying to achieve. My wife is always very happy the results as am I. Cynthia is a true friend, not just someone I see from time to time, and we talk life and what?s going on, which makes you feel at home. The entire staff is very friendly and I?ll continue to go back to Oggi as long as I can.

I've gone to several different places in Philly for facials, and definitely, Oggi offered the best, with the best products. The results you can see long after your appointment ! The lady in the reception is very pro and I find her nice and she remembers you when you walk in ... just fine to me !

Jon Christopher gave me the best highlights! I wasn't sure if I wanted highlights due to their need for constant maintenance (I hate roots!). Jon Christopher did an amazing job and the highlights look so natural in my hair. I am so happy I got them! It's been a few months since I've gotten my highlights and you can barely even see my roots. I am a brunette and I've gotten so many compliments on my highlights. One of my fellow brunette friends even told me that if she were to get highlights, she would get them from Jon Christopher!

I have tried my fair share of colorist and hair cutters in Philadelphia and none have even done close to as well a job with my hair as Richard has. He really is worth every penny (and he costs many pennies). He also is a very genuine guy. I usually like to keep to myself while getting my hair done but I really enjoy talking to him. He just is the coolest BEST guy ever. He does what you want as opposed to most hair dressers who do their own interpretation of what you want. Also Joanne at the front desk is really dynamite. She does her job well and is very helpful. I have heard some people describe her as kind of gruff but that is because she takes what she does seriously, which is why she is so good at it. She is sharp as a razor. I really can't say enough good about Oggi. I also went through my fair share of hair stylists at Oggi before settling on Richard, and never had a bad experience with any other stylists. Oggi is just an all around well run salon. I always trusted Joanne's opinion when she recommended another stylist and she has never steered me wrong. Recommend going in during a week day if possible, when the salon is less busy (also easier to get appointments).

I just went to see Jon Christopher at the Oggi Salon today! I LOVE HIM!!!!!! I can't stop looking at my hair!
I have been going to Jon for my haircut and color few years now, he always does an AMAZING JOB! He does the most incredible blonde highlights you will ever get! If you are a blone or want to be then JON IS YOUR MAN! I will never go to see anyone else again! I am yours forever JON! Thank you soo much!

I've lived in Philadelphia my whole life, and even though I'm "young" I still no bad from good. Oggi is great! Everyone of their employees are more than capable of doing a great job, too! My mom goes there weekly for a manicure and her nails always look lovely. About every two month I get my legs waxed, not only is it done quickly, but the staff are very personable. Both my mom and I have get our haircut at Oggi. My mom changes stylist, but my hair is always styled by Cynthia. She's very friendly and outgoing, and everyone I know who has their hair styled by her loves it! Sometimes the scheduling gets messed up, but what do you expect from an award winning center city salon and spa that is full of people? Yes, the women at the front desk aren't always the friendliest, but they know what they're doing and don't want to get caught up with a bitching customer. Thats the only time I've ever seen them be impolite. I recommend going to Oggi for anyone of their services!

I went to Andrea for a full head of higlights about 8 weeks ago and my color still looks great. I showed her some pictures and she really took the time to listen to what I wanted and she made suggestions to correct what was my current disasterous mix of highlights. She's really sweet and did a fabulous job. Make sure you schedule early though because she gets booked up especially on saturdays. I went back today to get a desperately needed haircut. I have thick curly hair and I normally go to Joseph at Signatures, but the last few times I've gone to price jumped from $100 to $125 and my most recent haircut was uneven and seemingly incomplete (left very thick and untamed in the back). I asked the receptionist who at Oggi was good with curly hair and she suggested Cynthia (who I found out has her own mane of very curly hair). She was fantastic, very easy-going, and knew what needed to be done to correct the overall heaviness of my hair. She blew it straight for me (at record speed I might add), so I haven't seen it curly yet, but I can definitely tell that it's a good cut. I highly recommend Cynthia and Andrea. And the receptionist was perfectly nice, don't listen to those other reviews, they probably showed up during a rush.

I went to Jon Christopher based on a recommendation and what an amazing experience. I have very, long curly hair that can be anything but fun to manage if you don't know what you are doing. Jon did FANTASTIC, thorough work on my hair. He spent adequate time straighting and did a perfect trim. This is by far the most precise hair cut I have ever had. His only goal is your happiness and he works to meet it!!! I would highly recommend him if you want to leave a salon feeling elated and gorgeous!!!!!!!!

There is something to be said about getting a haircut and absolutely loving it. You feel great, you look great, and it makes your confidence shoot through the roof. I used to live in Philadelphia and would get my haircut from Jon Christopher all the time. It was the only hair cutting experience i swore by. After living in Philly, I decided to move to New York to pursue other ventures. I thought to myself that it would be easy finding someone to cut my hair in NY. I mean New York is supposed to be the fashion capitol of the world, right? It didn't take me long to realize that getting a GREAT haircut wouldn't be an easy job. After a few years and some inadequate haircuts, i knew it was time to go back to JON.
I didn't realize just how much i missed jon cutting my hair and how a great haircut looked until I had Jon Christopher cut my hair again. I realize that there can never really be a subsitute for something so amazing. I will travel from New York at least once a month just so I can have Jon cut my hair. There's nothing like the feeling of leaving a salon and feeling completely new. If you havent been to Jon yet, you don't know what you are missing. After all, there is nothing like a "Jon cut"

I've been going to Jon Fishwick to have my hair done for almost 20 years now, and I must say he is the best. I've never had so many strangers compliment me on my highlights or haircut as I have since going to him. His personality and demeanor are amazing. Sitting in his chair for an hour feels like 5 minutes because time flies with him. He listens to your ideas about a hairstyle while putting in his own professional ideas. He will not hesitate to say what will look best on you, while still incorperating what you would like. He is not only an amazing hairstylist but an awesome person. I'd recommend over and over and over again to anyone. He truly is the best!

I recently moved to Philly and was looking for a new place to get my hair done when I came across the Oggi salon. As soon as I walked in I felt comfortable!!! I don't know how other people are when they first get their hair cut at a new place but I was super nervous. I had my hair cut and colored done by Jon Christopher. He was really nice and worked with me. Jon was honest , took his time and gave me lots of options!! Which was really important to me. In the end, my new cut and color came out awesome! He rocks! I love my hair sylist at Oggi, Jon Christopher! I met John when I was out with a friend one evening before I started going to him and he was just so down to earth, knowledgeable about hair and interesting to talk to that I wanted to go to him for my hair. He is schooled me on the techniques that work best for my curly hair when I started going to him and it's never looked better. I am so happy he's in town.
Jon is also EXCELLENT at color, cut and styling and wonderful to his clients! Whenever he does my hair it makes me look and feel like a Million Bucks! LOVE HIM!

I recently moved to Philadelphia and had yet to have my hair cut or colored in the city. I made an appointment with Cynthia at Oggi, for a cut and partial highlights. I am delighted with the results! I was worried that she would not understand that I wanted VERY SUBTLE highlights -- most of my friends don't even know that my hair is colored. And Cynthia had very bright hair that no one would describe as subtle. Nevertheless, she was thoughtful, a good listener, and very professional. She was friendly but not overly chatty. I am so happy that I found the right person in Philly, and I will definitely be going back to her.

I'm thankful every day that I found Andrea, she saved me from bad dye job hell! If you go to her with a request, she gives it to you. I've seen her clients with special effects purple hair to beautifully subtle blonde highlights, and a lot in between. This is a rare skill, as all of you with a bad dye job or haircut can attest to. Simply put, Andrea is the best colorist in Philadelphia. I should know because I've probably experienced the worst, and Andrea fixed my hair color, good as new. Susan, Andrea's understudy and mini-me, is an expert in training, schooled by the best, and should have her own chair soon at OGGI. I would confidently reccomend Susan's skill as well, once she's set up on her own.

I have had the best haircuts and color at Oggie, and the WORST haircut of my life. When I arrived (15 minutes early) for my haircut I could tell right away that Reno was tired and didn't want to be there. Unfortunately, this was the day I wanted a new style cut. I had photos of a previous style, MY hair (not some model), front, back and side views. Reno wasn't finished when his next client arrived and he clearly wasn't interested in my hair. I pointed out that the cut wasn't anything like the style in the photos. Reno was clearly annoyed and began literall chopping away. For the record, I have never been late for an appointment and always (except this time) tip over 20%!

Andrea is wonderful at color - after just a quick conversation with her, she understands what you're looking for and uses her creativity and expertise to suggest a style. You can always trust her - and she keeps it fresh each time you go. Really, really talented and wonderful at what she does.

Reno - awesome hair cut - especially for curly, long hair. He is an expert at understanding how hair falls and how to wear it - his cuts grow out so even and balanced - I end up waiting months before having to go back.

Andrea is not only a colorist, she is an artist!
My hair is extremely naturally blonde to where I have to get lowlights added in order to get some depth.
This can be a difficult thing with color because my hair doesn't really have any pigment in it from being so light, and you really need someone who has experience and who knows what they are doing with different colors & mixes for this.
Andrea gets my color right every time, even when I change colors or if I want to go chunkier or more natural with the lowlights.

I am so sorry for the people that feel this way about my fathers salon. About the evil receptionist Jo An she is not so mean, she is welcoming and nice, she just wants things done yesterday. And again I am truly sorry you feel this way. There are good stylists there and will do what you want as long as you tell them explicitly. if you have any further problems with the staff please direct your questions and concerns to Victor, Rino, or Fiorella, who are the owners (Jo An is not an owner), they will most likely entertain your questions. This is directly form one of the owners son's mouth.

Andrea Rothschild is the most talented colorist I've ever been to. She seemed to breeze through an 8 hour color correction without damaging by hair, bringing me from dark red to gingery brown. Her prices were very reasonable, and she's really nice.
she recomended a deep conditioner that actually works (because, girlfriends, we all know most of them don't) My hair was uneven and sort of dull to begin with, and now its the most flattering color I've ever had. Not too light, not too dark, exactly what i wanted. I have recomended Andrea to all of my friends and even my mother, and I would recomend her to anyone. I have total confidence in her skills, and I'm notoriously picky when it comes to my hair.

Everything good but if you don't change the old woman front desk your business will be go down. She was extremely rude and yell customer, not friendly, look like angry all the time. Your salon is great but your first impression person absolutely bad.

At 40 years old I had never colored my hair before, and after some debating and conculting with Cindy, I finally let her work her magic. I am absolutely addicted to the beautiful and bold highlights she has enhanced me with....Everywhere I go people stop stare and compliment me..The ultimate confirmation that not only am I happy, but most people I come on contact with say the same. And most importantly she can cut hair like no one else I've seen. It grows out amazingly and looks better each week! Cindy is THEEE only stylist for me. She's worth every penny and you will leave with a BIG smile on your face.

I love the service at this place!! When I call, they are so courteous. They try their best to work with my schedule. When I came in, they were not snooty at all. They made me feel high end, but they didn't act like I was lucky to be there (like other places in town). Debbe was so helpful. The last person I saw messed up my eyebrows terribly. Debbe talked to me about where to grow them out and how to fix them. She gave me skin tips also and they have totally worked. My FACE looks great, not just my brows. Definitely go there.

I went to Oggi for waxing and the waxing lady was horrible!! First, she waxed in a very dim-lit room. When I came home, I found so many spots she missed. Second, I asked for the bikini area to be waxed, but I couldnt even wear boy shorts with the "bikini" wax she gave me - and I'm not even that hairy! I have been going to Cynthia Peditto for my cut and color for 8 years. I have followed her to whatever salon she has been at, and even while I lived in other cities - I made the trip back to Philly for her work. She is incredibly helpful and has the best, most fun, high energy you could want. From short to long, blonde to red, Cynthia has been the mastermind behind, what I believe, have been 8 great years of new 'dos! and I wouldn't trust anyone else to bring scissors near my hair. Cynthia cares about her clients, not only if they are happy with their hair, but what is going on with them in general - she becomes your friend and is just an extremely caring individual.

I've been going to Oggi for a cut and color for about two years now. Andrea does an amazing color! She's friendly, funny, and has a way w/ low-lights and high-lights! I've sent many friends to her and they've all been happy. I go to Reno for a cut. His cuts are so great and grow out very nicely - so I'm not spending $$ on a haircut once a month. He is also always willing to cut my bangs which is another money saver. Staff - for the most part - are exceptionally nice.

I have been a loyal customer of this salon for 4 years. In the entire time I have been a patron, I have never been treated poorly or even indifferently by any of the staff. I routinely get my hair cut and highlighted by Jeffrey. He does a fantastic job with the color and gives expert advice on low lights for the fall. (A testament to this is that he is a certified color instructor.) Due to my busy schedule with work, I sometimes call at the last minute for an appointment. Jeffrey is always very accommodating, will work me in to his schedule, and never compromises a good cut for time constraints. Beyond his skill as a stylist, Jeffrey has a fantastic personality. He treats each of his customers with the same courtesy regardless of financial background, a rare exception in this industry.
As for other salon services, I have used Henry for up-do's and makeup for several gala events. Henry is very creative and artistic rendering a hairstyle that is classic and yet distinctive. The same is true for his application of makeup as he has the ability to identify someone's best facial features and accentuate them. He is also moderate with the application of foundation so that the effect is a natural one and not the clown look that some places produce.
All in all, I highly recommmend this salon. One thing to note as that it is on the expensive side. But you get what you pay for!

I recently moved into Center City and started to go to another salon other than Oggi. I went three times to this other salon and was only happy with the cut and color once. I went to Oggi for the first time and had a great experience. The receptionists were nice and Jeff was my stylist and he was GREAT! I walked out of there and everyone complimented my hair color. I have now found my salon in Philly and I will continue to be a loyal customer of Jeff's.

I'm a guy, and I don't ordinarily contribute to these boards, but wanted to put in a word for Jeffrey -- who does a great job at men's haircuts.

As for the receptionists, it's been my experience that they warm up as one becomes a regular, not that their treatment of the customer differs based on how well someone has dressed that morning. I've been getting my haircut there for a year now and am treated very, very well by all -- from the front desk to the hairwashers.

I recently moved to Philly and had tried out a different salon other than Oggi, which I was very unhappy with. A friend of mine had then recommended this salon, and Jeff was my stylist. I couldn't have been more pleased. Jeff was very polite, professional, and made me feel completely at ease. I have been complimented on my hair by complete strangers, and I always end up telling everyone I come across about him. I won't ever have to go to a different salon as long as Jeff will be working here.

I am writing about the manicures and pedicures at salon oggi. Donna brown Has been doing a great job there for a couple of years. She really knows each client individually and put all her heart and dedication into her job. She is a very sweet person always. I love going to donnas to get my mani and pedi. I recommend you try for yourself and you will see the natural artistic talent in this girl.

This receptionist is the most arrogant woman I have ever met! I just don't get it, I smile at her when I'm there, I am polite and pleasent and she still is rude and MEAN!

Yes, the front desk receptionists are arrogant and snoby, but that will not stop me from going to Linda. I have been with her since she was at VOG and have been her client ever since. When I first went to her my hair was about five different colors! I had went to other colorists whom tried to work ther magic but failed. Linda didn't! I can now say that I have found an amazing colorist and I am amazed at how she gives me exactly what I want. She made me a blonde, a red head, and a brunette and did not once give me something that I did not like. Go to Linda and let her work her magic on you!

I have gotten a blow out and massage at Oggi. The staff is great. I believe the lady that owns the salon is the nasty one. Unless you are dripping with jewels she could careless to help you. She basically takes your money and then looks at you like "what the hell so you want." I have plenty of money to blow at salons but only go there for specific things b/c I don't really care to be a patron of her shop.

this is a perfectly satisfactory salon near rittenhouse square in philadelphia. i've gone to only one hairstylist there (desiree), but i had her cut and highlight my hair at least six times, until she raised her prices and then left the salon altogether. honestly, the cuts were about as good as what i usually get at supercuts (where i'm going now). beware the reception staff at oggi - they are horrendously rude and nothing like the stylists themselves in terms of demeanor.

PROS: good location, pleasant atmosphere
CONS: too expensive, rude reception staff

The first time I stepped into Oggi I saw Henry who did a wonderful job with my makeup for a special event. He recommended that I have a facial with Janet. I saw Janet the second Saturday in September and she is wonderful. I'm biracial and it was nice to finally be serviced by someone who is knowledgeable about ethnic skin care and just ethnic people in general. I had the best facial ever and the best experience. I'm going back for my next facial in October. So far not bad experiences with the reception staff, but things could change.

I had my first appointment at Oggi yesterday with Richard and my hair is FABULOUS! Since I spent such a long time there, had color, highlights, conditioning treatment, lunch, haircut and blow dry, I decided to take a a massage with Svetlana in between services and it was wonderful. I did not experience any problems with the receptionists, in fact, they were friendly and polite and I will definitely return to Richard and Svetlana! My hair looks AMAZING and my back feels great!

The staff at the front desk were extremely rude. Instead of making me feel at home and comfortable they made me feel as though I was bothering them. My haircut was awful. I spent so much time talking with the stylist about my hair and in the end I felt as though she hadn't listened to a word I said. I specifically told her I didn't want any short layers and she gave me nothing but short layers. When I got home and took a closer look in my mirror I couldn't believe she let me leave the salon looking like that. It was a very sloppy haircut with bad layering.

I decided to check out Oggi since my favorite stylist just started working there, however, my attempts to make an appointment were unsuccessful due to a very rude, obnoxious, invidious, malevolent, snotty receptionist. No, I never did make an appointment, I ending up hanging up the phone so I cannot say much about the salon but if they allow their CUSTOMER SERVICE representatives to treat their clients that way over the telephone, I am not interested in visiting in person. Hopefully, the owner or management will see this review and address the problem immediately. A receptionist is just that and nothing more so she should really adjust her attitude. I will never go this salon based on that alone.

My stylist is James - the best in my estimation as a men's hair stylist - he loves his profession and it shows. I start to relax even before I enter the door. I'm always greeted with a friendly hello from everyone and the place is CLEAN! Sometimes I don't know what I want as far as a hair cut, and I'll say to James, "Do whatever you feel like," and he rises to the occasion, creating an original style which always seems to work. Now, that's talent. Often I arrive early talk with them before my haircut and I watch James cut and color a woman's hair. He's an artist. You know the woman loves how she looks because it shows in her face, as well as in her hair. Kudos to Mary, Amanda, Jeff, Joanne and Vanessa (the new receptionist).

I have loved my haircuts and hilites by Jeff at Oggi. I tried a few other salons in Philadelphia but like this one the best. I get consistently good hair cuts and people always compliment my hair. Even my husband goes to Jeff for his hair cuts and they are the best haircuts he's ever had.

I am usually pretty low key and flexible about my haircuts but I received one of the worst haircuts ever at this place. The woman who cut my hair was incredibly slow (over 1 hr). The people were friendly but I wouldn't go back. I also saw a woman walk out with one of the worst color jobs I've ever seen. I'd expect much more in what I consider a sophisticated city.

I've been going to Henry at Oggi for years, and he's the only reason I go there. I look forward to interacting with the receptionists about as much as I enjoy going to the dentist. They are miserable and act like they are doing you some kind of favor, rather than acting like the customer servants they truly are. The only reason I keep going back is because Henry does such a fantastic job on my hair .... I feel like a million bucks everytime I leave the salon. I've never been pushed into buying products or services I don't really want. The actual hairdressers all seem personable and very skilled -- if you can get past the pyrhannas at the front desk, you'll be fine. One good thing .. I've never had to wait. My appointment always begins on time.

I went to OGGI for the first time a couple of weeks ago---HIDEOUS ATTITUDES on the self-impressed, overstaffed, receptionist CIRCUS! Let's just say, Rudeness and Pertention greeted me and wisked me into the coat room with an impatient stance as I took off my coat and scarf due to freezing temps. I was offered a drink, but knew that I should not ask from the tone of the question. I met Desiree (stylist) and Hanna (wash), the only redeeming pieces of my experience at an otherwise gorgeous salon spoiled by that Receptionist staff on the way in and on the way out. Was the girl actually expecting a tip after that treatment? Not sure if I will go back. I would love to know who the owner and/or manager is so I could see how they would respond to an unsatisfied customer....

First, I have to say that Desiree really is a great styist. She is extremely nice and easy to talk to and will be honest about cuts and color that will suit you. I followed her from another salon to Oggi after years of jumping around to find someone who was this good. She is very skilled and seems to always be going to workshops to improve her skills and learn new things. However, if it wasn't for her I would have probably gone there once and not returned. The desk receptionists are typically kind of pretentious. I always feel like they are judging each person who walks in and if you aren't a high society type you don't deserve kind treatment. Now I feel like I have to get dressed up and put make up on to get my haircut just so I can get past the desk.

My initial interaction with Oggi salon was not a friendly one, as the receptionist who answered the phone was very impolite...I was about to cancel my appointment. However, after surpassing the rude receptionists when I arrived, the rest of my experience was wonderful and I would recommend the stylist, Jeff, to anyone. I'm always receiving compliments on my hair cut and color and I attribute this to Jeff...he is very professional and on the cutting edge. The assistants are great as well; Hanna and Michelle make you feel comfortable. Amiable atmosphere, however the receptionists could use an attitude adjustment and provide service with a smile, instead of being cocky and pretentious. It wouldn't surprise me if people opted not to go there b/c of the receptionists. Overall, the salon itself is great and Jeff is fabulous. It's also a nice perk that Oggi provides parking discounts for nearby lots.

i went in for a few highlights and a trim and i wound up with a chopped up mess. everything was way over priced, the receptionist was extremely rude. why does every employee in there think they just walked out of beverly hills. not even close people. i didnt appreciate that when i did complain about my hair they could care less as long as they got paid.it sucks.please dont go there.oh one more thing, why cant i go get my hair done and leave, why does the staff have to try and force me to buy their crappy products?

I JUST DESCOVERED SALON OGGI, I IMMEDIATELEY FELL IN LOVE AS SOON AS I WALKED IN. THE RECEPTIONISTS WHERE VERY CURTIOUS AND PLEASANT, THEY DEFINITELY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. I AM FROM OUT OF TOWN AND WANTED TO GET MY HAIR BLOWN DRY. THEY SENT ME OVER TO AMANDA, WHO WAS VERY NICE AND PERSONABLE. SHE GAVE ME JUST WHAT I WANTED AND MORE. I WOULD DEFINITELY RETURN WHEN I TRAVEL BACK TO THE CITY.

I agree that Oggi is unrightfully pretentious. The reason I go there is because Desiree is an awesome stylist. She always does a great job on my hair, and after I leave I don't have to go home and wash out all the product!

I also agree that the reception staff is obnoxious.. especially the woman in charge whom my friend and I refer to as 'Cruella Deville'. Seriously, it's their job to be nice to the customers and they just act like they're doing you a favor. You're a RECEPTIONIST for Christ's sake!

Oh, and I wouldn't recommend getting a bikini wax there, but as I said, Desiree is the best.

Ok...This place is trash. My hair is now trash as well. The stylist did not understand what I wanted at all, and gave me this ugly 70's hair close to a mullet. I was so mad that I almost walked out without paying, and I probably shouldn't have. This place is unrightfully pretentious and no better than a hair cuttery. It's going to cost me another fifty bucks to get it done by Marcus at Salon at 5th...I had these ugly bangs once by another bangup "haircutter" and he fixed them to where they were almost invisible....

Tom Santoro gives the best hair cut ever. I have never had a bad hair cut and have never given him direction on what I want. He just knows what looks good. He also does amazing highlights. The reception staff can DEFINITELY use some help, but they are not cutting the hair.

I recently spent a Marvelous Morning at Oggi. The one aspect I was not pleased with was the reception staff. It seemed like it was a chore for them to even say hello. Considering this is the way we begin and end our experience, they could use a lesson in client service and friendliness. With that being said, I was pleased with my overall experience. Donna Marie gave me a wonderful massage with her healing hands, Heather gave me an exceptional facial and it was a treat to be in her care and I ended my day with a relaxing pedicure with Mercedes. I would recommend any one of these three ladies to a friend, but not the salon itself.

My hair cut was ok even though they left cut hair all over my face my neck. My color was very blochey which they knew, but still sent me out the door when their next client arrived. For the price, Pileggi On The Square is a much better choice!
