I did not see any terms so how can I agree? I thought I was buying a car from Jim Click in Tucson, Arizona. I went there because of their good reputation. The salesman was sweating and fast because he knew I wanted the car. Due to his great skill of manipulating I was really buying a car from Rancho Sante Fe. I later found out they were denied a business here from BBB 6 times. My payments 99% of the time were perfect for almost 2 years. I lost my vision in one eye and thats when I missed a payment. I caught up and went back to work and continued to make my payments. Almost two years later I had too have my eye removed. The healing process was painfully and having an artficial eye was difficult. My job fired me during this time. I no longer was driving. I missed three payments and Rancho Santa Fe tacked on their insurance and the payments became huge. I asked them for help because the car was almost completely payed for.. I went to the salesmen who sold me to the dev-l and he lied once again. I kept my car because I knew I would be getting a lump sum of money and intended to settle with Rancho. They took my car a week after I got the money. Their website was blank. The same week when I did talk with them they wanted a huge amount.
They went down to 7OOO if I took off the internet what I said about them and did not go to attorney general. What ended up happening is they kept everything I paid, got paid a second time because they claimed a loss ( when the banks were bailed out)
They sold my car. Essentially they were paid 3 times. Isn't that fraud? I have 2 contracts something was wrong from the beginning. Since they have been too court many times, some people were not cheated like me. Cheated, no they stole my car and got away with it. Mainly because they are in California. Why are they allowed to continue ? They are sad people. A sober thief is still a thief. A carsales still lives up to their reputation of dishonesty.
And the Bob's , Tom, Jim, Dick and Harry still rip us off.

Were do I start. I had a choice of finance companies and choose to go with Rancho. The biggest mistake!! The customer service is plain horrible. Rude does not begin to describe the employees. I have had my loan with then for a few years and I am planning a party when my car is paid off. I paid my car note $50.00 once and received a "threatening phone call". I explained to the person, I understand the reason for your call and tried to explain that my mother just had a major stroke, as I was in the hospital and we were not sure if she would make it through the night. This woman threatened to Repo my car for $50.00. I hung up, she called right back to continue threaten me. I walked outside of the hospital and ripped everyone a new "humm.. seat". The C.S. Rep supervisor refused to call me back. I deferred a payment and they took $150.00 "deferment" fee which I was never informed of nor was it stated on the agreement I signed. I have filed complaints with the BBB, State of California as well as the Commission that governs such companies. Not one of these entities would step in even though they agreed their business practices were not right, fair or legal. I have never wished a company to go out of business.... until today.

after saying my pmts. of $400mo have gone up to $550mo. because my insurance lapsed. Got my ins reinstated, which cost me $200 every 6 months for full coverage, but i haven't paid them anything the last 3 months because they're trying to make me pay $150 more per month for insurance they supposedly took out on there own.Tthey threatened to repo, but can't find the car. If i wait them out til they go out of business, then do i get to keep the car and not have to pay the balance.

My dealings with this company have been positive. When I was laid off in Feb 09 they worked with me in regard to reduction of payments and payment extensions until I found work again. As a result now that I have been working for over a year I traded my vehicle and got into a better interest rate loan and they were paid in full. When I read some of your comments complaining you all seem to forget that Rancho was willing to finance you when nobody else would. Anything that occurred afterwards that was negative was most likely due to you not honoring the terms and conditions of your agreement, so you should stop complaining and try to work with this company to resolve your delinquency and you might be surprised at how willing they will be to work with you provided you are sincere in your desire to honor your obligation.

you can't trust merchant circle your all scammers more than ever

They may not be the best finance company to deal with, but they are certainly not the worst either. I don't like that if I pay by phone either with a check or debit card that they charge to do it, but so do the electric and cable companies.

As far as customer service goes, you get the attitude that you give. I have dealt with Vanessa for a couple of years now and at the beginning she seemed to have a little something to proof, but as time has gone on, she has gotten friendly, even congratulating me when I got married.

I don't know if I would do business with them again, but I can't say that I would stay clear of them either.

I agree this company is a freaking joke- we have been dealing with them for almost 5 years now DO NOT GET A LOAN THRU THEM. They are completely rude have no customer service skills what so ever- act like they come straight out of Compton with zero home training what so ever-

Each month our statement changes- we owe more and more and seem to never pay the right amount- started out paying 300. and now pay 630 and STILL got a notice that we were behind??? Letter for repo say some 900. you call them and they are like oh its 14. Are you kidding me- how is this company STILL in business... Thank God I do not live in Ca. anymore or I would be in jail dealing with these people

I believe the review written by Erika needs to be removed. She works for the company!!!!! This company has horrible customer service, do not use them if you can avoid them do so. If you communicate with them they will work with you somewhat but go totally bill collector on you using scare tactics. They are quick to threaten repo, and will repo quickly. I do no recommend them at all, I had a choice and rather than go with my previous lender I decided to give Rancho a shot and it has been a miserable experience. They charge you to pay by phone, they charge late fees immediately and will force place insurance on your car very quickly if you allow your policy to drop. All in all it has been a horrendous 3 1/2 years dealing with them. Beware of Shaylin she is incredibly rude and very emotional. I hate this company. Do yourself a favor and if you have a choice deal with someone else. And by the way, their own employee told me they are not accepting new loans, the company is on the verge of going out of business and is struggling in the current economy. Keep this in mind with dealing with them.

If a dealership offers to finance your next car at Rancho Santa Fe Thrift & Loan Association SAY NO! It's not worth the hassle even if it looks like you would be saving money.
