This is NOT a club for family with children. Just recently they changed their policy which limits children, twelve years and under, to 3 hours daily in the morning for family membership. Even during those hours the children are not allowed to use the locker room. Their business hours is very limited: closing at 6:PM on weekend. The Management team is rude. You are better off invest your money somewhere else.

They did not lie to me. I got free 2 whole weeks before I could decide. My experience at the club is that they are really friendly. I really like the installations the pool, the courts, the new cardio room. Hey look, I was invited to play basketball when I was watching play a couple of teams, I think that's friendly. I believe the facilities are nice due to the fact that it is located in a historic building. -"Overall there is everything you could want and more" that is for true. But do not take my work for it. They will let you try for free. Go and see for yourself.

This is a long one: Staff lied about pricing so that they could "Sponsor" me and get me a discount. A bunch of bologna. Only one price unless your company has a discount. I don't know about you but I don't like being lied to especially after the guy gives the whole spiel about a "Friendly" and "Great Atmosphere" club for a whole hour. (lied about what they offered too) Also about that "Friendly" place, most members are arrogant and unfriendly especially if you are under 30. And when I say most members I mean about 85%. It is a "Private Club", but I thought civilities like 'Hello" and "Good-Bye" where allowed, especially with the people you see every time you are there. The facilities could be nice. They are under construction. But overall there is everything you could want and more. If you have trouble finding the place just try smelling the air. It pollutes a 2 block radius with its awful stench and anything you bring in will be forever skunked. Seriously it stinks there. It isn't a locker room stink, I don't mind that. It is more of a chlorine sewer smell. The only good thing I can honestly say is that Shammrock MMA classes upstairs are really good and well worth your time. Don't Bother with San Jose Athletic Club.

Nice place. Most members seem to be professionals and not the regular gym crowd. Club is never crowed with lots of amenities like steam, cold pool, sauna, and hot tub. They provide towels and basically
everything you will need.
They have a nice pool, basketball, racquetball and the regular weights / cardio. Best of all there is a private bar on the second floor for members to enjoy a drink.

This club is located on top of the Knight Ridder building in downtown San Jose. They have parties I think once a month/week or so that bring together some of the movers and shakers of SJ so its a good place to mingle. They also have a nice restaurant which is sometimes rented out for weddings. I think you have to be invited to join...membership as I last recall was around 3k? It may have gone up.
