La Locanda is not your typical neighborhood Restaurant. I have been following its owner throughout Miami fine dinning establishment for several years now as he always made my visit a memorable one. The service and attention we receive from Hugo (proprietor) is what the great dinning is all about. The food is another surprise - Hugo assembled great team at La Locanda able to bring out not only the best of Italian, but also Latin and Mediterranean cuisine. On his menu are many of our favorite traditional meals but also some surprises too. Mozzarella Delicia is a "House Speciality", a warm center prosciutto-wrapped-delight made exclussively on premisses and is favorite must-have starter for anybody serious about good food. it should not be a surprise that other Chefs visit La Locanda hoping they will be able to figure out how to make their own. Many of La Locanda favorite specialties are carefully prepared in one-of-a-kind wood-burning oven. My favorite is combination of Grilled Lamb with Four Layer Cheese Gnocchi (if not on the menue - ask for it!). The ambiance is also not your typical neighborhood restaurant - it is more like Coral Gables venue with lots of fine art. Best part is prices, inspite quality offering, they are what every gem of a neighborhood restaurant should be - affordable on any budget. Beware - La Locanda is here to stay as one of the best places to go "often" and eat on a budget and beyond. Bon Appetit!

Hel-looooo La Locanda! Where have you been my whole life?! My wife and I were recently introduced to La Locanda by friends. It was a fabulous introduction. From the moment we walked in to the minute we walked out, we were well fed and pampered by Hugo and his impressive wait staff, cooks, and wine list. Don?t miss the mozzarella and prosciutto. The four of us devoured two orders and didn?t miss a beat. I had the grilled lamb and Joann had the Sea Bass. We were all having a fine time forking the others? plates. Lots of fun. La Locanda is understatedly elegant. It is a definite repeat which I HIGHLY recommend. A+!

I visited LaLocanda for the first time on Saturday night. What a great neighborhood place! The homemade mozzarela appetizer was fabulous and the seabass special absolutely delicious. And, save room for dessert. All taste just like my Italian grandmother used to make. I can't recommend this place enough - it's great!

This hidden gem is the true definition of "authentic italian cuisine"! Enjoy quiet dining in a small intimate setting with the finest offerings of Italy. The servers are friendly and attentive and its not an unusual event to meet and shake hands with the owner as you enter / exit this fine establishment. You will find the finest Caesar salad in town (and I am picky about my Caesar Salad)! The Farfalle al Salmone is to die for! The price is reasonable and the wine selection is devine. I no longer live in Miami and truly miss this fine establishment. I make sure to eat there every time Im in town!

Finally also in Kendall we can enjoy an extraordinary and authentic italian restaurant. No more need to drive to South Beach.
"Branzino al sale" is to die for. The "Guazzetto" is delicious and of course all kind of "risottos" are cooked to perfection; pasta is cooked perfectly "al dente" and for one night , please forget about the South Beach diet and try the even-better-then-my-mother
"tortelli di zucca" (squash ravioli).
Everything cooked in front of you in a perfectly clean open chicken .
