Hungry between 10-230, get Mike Anderson's BBQ. 5 Star Rating - World class

What to order:
For a first timer, definately order the large sandwhich plate with chopped beef. It comes with two sides, Mike's cheese bake is amazing, and the other sides are sufficiently good. If you are feeling adventurous order the "spudzilla", a gigantic baked potato with your favorite meat, cheese, and other toppings. Don't forget to get a free ice cream cone when you are done.

The Atmosphere:
Mike takes pride in his work, evidenced by the fact that he chops and serves each of his customers on a daily basis. The place has plenty of seating, inside and out. The atmosphere is one of the main reasons I keep coming back to this place. Caution, the lunch crowd is huge, if possible try to eat a late lunch to avoid the rush.

Summary:
Overall Mike Anderson's is my favorite BBQ joint in Dallas because it has the full package. Good brisket, great sides, easy to read menu, and a large seating area. His competitor down the road, Sunny Bryons, has great brisket and a few good sides, but reading the menu is difficult, and seating even more difficult.

Who am I:
I am a medical student and BBQ fan, and every city I live in, or travel to, I search out the best bbq. As of yet, Texas Brisket is still my favorite.

Pros: Brisket, Sausage, Sides, Service, free ice cream
Cons: Hours of operation, Large lunch crowd

Owner and Staff are Rude Folks - They don't need your business. According to the cashier. 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Dont go to Mike Andersons Barbeque unless you know what you want and you order it fast. It was my first time in this restaurant and the food smelled great. When I got to the man slicing the meat, I told him I would like double sliced beef. I then asked him what other varieties were available. He looked up at me and stated, You need to hurry up and make a decision, I have other customers I need to get to. He then said, I have chicken, pork, sausage, pulled pork, etc I said, Ill have the pulled pork. Then I paused for a minute and thought about what he said. I asked him to repeat what he said hoping he would apologize for the rude comment. Instead he said, I have other customers to get to I said, All I asked was, what type of meats do you have? He said, theres the board, you should have made up your mind before you got here. I handed him back the plate and said, My mind is made up and I am not eating here As I pushed the plate back to him, he said, I am going to kick your blank. Shocked, I invited him to do so. He walked around the corner by the register and stood 2 inches from my face. I told him to go ahead and swing at me. There were lots of witnesses and I needed the money anyway. Frustrated, he walked back to the counter and started slicing for someone else. I asked the lady at the register, Who was that man who lost his temper with me? She said it was the OWNER!! Mike Anderson. I said, Well, this will be my last time in here. She said, (Get this) We have been in business for over 25 years and we obviously do something right. We dont need your business. Can you believe that? This was my first time in here and I was going to spend over $30 for me and my family. Since I now work around the corner, I probably would have been back at least 10 times in the year. Thats about $300. Probably would have brought additional friends. I guess they dont need that money.

Pros: Food Smelled Good
Cons: Hard to do business with someone who is rude.
