Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is a great zoo! Full of all sorts of wonderful things to see and do. I love their original carousel (made in New York waaaaaaaaay back when and fully restored to it's original condition). Only a quarter to ride it - and it goes so much faster than most carousels today.
A few big uphill sections but they have a little bus thing you can ride all day for just one dollar. The admission fee can be scary, but if you plan to visit more than 3 times in one year, a membership would be well worth the money you pay for it. Great zoo!!!!!!!

My son's school went on a field trip to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo last spring. I must say I've never seen him so excited to share his day with us! So we took him back over the summer and I was VERY impressed. The exhibits are clean, the variety of animals is great and they have hands on activities (such as a petting zoo) that was a lot of fun for the whole family. Not to mention that the zoo is on the mountain so the view is spectacular. The admission cost was fine with me. $10 is not a lot to pay for great fun, super friendly zoo employees and a full day of learning!

The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is a wonderful experience for children. Their Giraffe herd is one of a kind. There are so many giraffes and they will eat right out of your hand. If you live in Colorado Springs, I would recommend getting the season pass, because you will definately want to return.

PROS: Giraffes
CONS: lots of walking

Every summer we usually spend at least 5 or 6 days at the zoo. The animals and exhibits are well kept and clean. We usually get to see something interesting like them feeding the animals or interacting with them. One gentleman spent about 14 minutes talking to my kids about the Timber Wolf, explaining about thier eating habits and more. he patiently answered any questions that they had about the animals

The mountain Zoo is a really different way to see the animals. Be sure to were your best walking shoes because some of the hill are very steep. You need to be in really good shape or be prepared to take several rest stops along the way. There are usually traveling exhibits of different animals to see.

We had a great time at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo when we went. The zoo is built on the side of a mountain so make sure you have good shoes on and if you have bad knees or feet make sure you take lots of breaks along the way. The exhibits are well designed and easy for the kids to see the animals. My kids liked the giraffes the best.

Have you ever been to a zoo on the mountain? If not, then Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is the place to go while you are in Colorado Springs. Beautiful Mountain Views all around you. A very well kept zoo with many things to do.

The cost of admission was $10 per adult. It may sound a bit costly, but I think it's an adventure worth during once.

The country's only mountain zoo, that's their catch. If it weren't soooooooo expensive, I'd actually visit it more than one or two times a year. They have a few newer exhibits for those who haven't visited in a while - but I can't get past that price!

I think I'd rather head to Denver for a day, and check out their zoo and the Butterfly Pavilion and more and more!
