I had an eye emergency this AM and went to Jervey in Simpsonville. They were very nice and I did not have to wait long. Dr. Easterling examined my eye, explained the problem and provided treatment. I was very pleased with this visit and the care I received. My previous apt. with their office did not go well so this was a welcomed relief.

My son had an eye exam in April 2010 at the location in Simpsonville, which went well. At this visit it was decided that he would be able to wear contacts. It has taken almost three months before the contacts that were ordered at his visit arrived at their office. I had sent a co-worker to their office in Simpsonville yesterday for an eye exam and she over heard a conversation that the order of contacts that had come in were all wrong. I called the office to verify that ours were correct before I sent my son up there to pick them up. After two hours no return phone call, so I called back and was told by the receptionist that I was being rude and did not need to get an attitude with her. That was very rude and unprofessional. I will think again before I refer someone to the Jervey Eye Group.

I visited the Simpsonville location and had an apt. with Dr. Easterling. I was quickly taken back by a very nice assistant and she did the routine work and then dialated my eyes. From that point on the service was awful to say the least - I waited over an hour after my eyes had been dialated to be seen by the Dr. My contacts were ordered and I picked them up. I realized after wearing the first pair that something was wrong - when I called the office they said they ordered the wrong type. I returned the contacts and they said they credited my Visa account. Called back after receiving my Visa statement and there was no credit - they said once again it had been credited. Spoke with Visa today (6/14 - the bill should have been credited in April) and they have still not credited my account. I spoke with the business office and they said they applied the credit to my bill - well I never received a bill - they said there was a balance after my insurance was filed. They sent no bill and never notified me that they did this - BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE - in my book!!

I took my son to see Dr. Catherine Bowden when he was three years old. She assured me he could see fine. I then took him back when he was five in September of 2009. She gave me his percription of -6.-- in one eye and -7.-- in the other eye. Even she was shocked by how bad it was considering according to her he could see fine when he was three. I took him to Southeren eye Associates in Greenville 1/2010, three months later, and his precription is now -10 in one eye and -11 in the other eye. They made sure his eyes were dialated, something Jervey never made sure of, and they had him wait 30 minutes instead of 10 - 15 for his eyes to dialate. They told us in children you have to put more drops in their eyes and wait longer bc their eyes are more resiliant. He has to now see a specialist bc he may also have a lazy eye that he crosses a lot, something I went over several times with Jervey and they said it was just some muscles that would clear up as he got older. I will not go back to Jervey. The other doctors there may be good, but I think the doctors at Southern Eye Associates in Greenville are a lot better at doing their jobs.

I have had good experience with this eye group. Dr Civiletto is always great and spends enough time with my appointment that I feel like he cares about my eyes and eye health. It does sometimes take a long time for the appointment, but I don't feel badly about it because I know they are giving each patient the same personal care. I don't have vision insurance, so I always have to pay for the service, but the prices are reasonable and I never feel like I have paid too much.

If you don't have VSP they'll give you the run around on insurance. First they tried to claim that they didn't think I had coverage (which of course I did), and now they are sitting on $100 of my money until their bi-monthly reimbursement. Then they told me after the fact that they don't bill anyone but VSP or Davis for contacts and glasses, which was exactly the opposite I was told at the front desk. Of course, their billing department just gives stock lines to cover their butt.

Anyway, the doctors are good and everyone is friendly, but they are too characteristic of the medical industry which likes to conceal any out-of-pocket costs until after you are stuck. I liked Dr. Shelley but from now on I'm going to go somewhere else.

I've gone to Jervey Eye Group for about 4 years now and have always had positive experiences. I have always been treated professionally and courteously. I have never had too wait more than 20 minutes for my appointment. They do get busy and it is sometimes hard to schedule an appointment when you need to. They will order my contacts for me and call me when they arrive or ship them straight to me. I have been very pleased with them.

My daughter has a lazy eye so her doctor wanted to make sure everything was alright with her eye. When I got there a nice lady at the front desk directed us in the right direction. When we got in the back there was a huge playroom and also a huge fish tank to look at. It was a wonderful experience for both of us.
