Took my dogs to Southlake(Morrow) store for years.Got got good service(allowing for mistakes) for the most part. For the past 2 years
grooming staff much worse.Agree they have Very Poor customer service(both Mcdonough and Morrow stores!) Dogs not as well groomed either.Too many ear an TONGUE cuts!! Used mobile groomer, since my dog is older now ,with good service. They are no longer servicing my area.Decided to give petsmart another chance, but they solidified my decision to stay away with their poor customer service.I am not at all comfortable leaving my pets in their(groomers) hands. BEWARE.....

I have always used Petsmart in the past 7years. It is really disturbing to here how proper customer service has declined. I have taken my dog who is a year old now(has been going to this petsmart since he was 3 months) for grooming at a Fayetteville, Ga petsmart. When I first started bringing my pet there service was wonderful, then I noticed that several of the groomers that were professional were replaced by groomers that had no customer service, or grooming skills. The groomers they have now do not display basic customer service manners. My last visit I complained about having my pet there for almost 6 hours and he still had not been done. When I waited an addtional hour and a half, and took my dog home I noticed that his hair had not been cut right. So if you tick off a groomer their way of getting back at the complaining customer is to take it out on the pet's groom. WOW. Has Petsmart gotten to the point of desperation in hiring inexperienced groomers in order to keep Petsmart operating. Do yourself a favor fellow pet owners check your pet thoroughly if you complain about the service.

Dropped my dog off for a trim; was told "1 1/2 to 2 hours". Hung around the area rather than drive all the way back home. Went in after 2 hours and they had not even started on her yet. Apparently they had left my 12 year old Golden Retriever in a kennel for those 2 hours. The girl who had checked her in claimed she had told me "that is EXPRESS service" for 2 hour service; it is also $11 more. Needless to say, I got my dog and left. I spoke to the manager. He said 3 to 4 hours is normal. I'll never go back.

And in response to "Sharon V": I don't think cutting a piece of a dog's ear off is a minor thing or an expectation of "perfection". You must be an employee of PetSmart.

I believe your review is slightly harsh, considering you've been taking your dog to the same grooming facility for "years" and you've only had one negative experience. Everyone makes mistakes; unfortunately, that's only human. Anytime a groomer injures an animal, it's a very traumatic experience for them as well. They're dealing with animals that pull, jerk around and get frightened easily. Cutting your animal doesn't make someone an "inexperienced groomer" per se considering accidents do happen. It's a shame that the mentality of most people is as follows: as long as their experiences are 100% all the time, they're happy. The one time something goes wrong, every good experience is forgotten. I've been taking my dog to this grooming facility for a very long time and usually my experience is always pleasant. There have been times where it's taken longer than expected, but things happen. No wonder customer service is always rated so low in the majority of retail establishments. Everyone wants perfection.

My 2 Cairn Terriers have been going to PetSmart Grooming in McDonough for several years and I have been satisfied until today. I took my male to be groomed and after 3 hours I received a call from the groomer asking for permission for there Vet to treat my dog. To make a long story short the groomer had cut a piece of my dogs ear off while trimming his ears!!! How do you accidentially do such a thing. The groomer admitted that it was her fault!! Today was my last day at PetSmart. Next time it could be an eye or something else!!!

I took my Great Pyrenees to this Pets mart for a bath and lo-shed brush out. I left her at 12:00 noon and was told to return between 3:45-4:14 to pick her up. When I returned at 4:15, my dog was soaking wet. The tech that had come in at 4:00 told me she had just been bathed and would not be ready until after 6:00 pm. I spoke with the manager expressing my disappointment and took my wet dog and left. The manager did not apologize, just assured me I would not get charged. Charged for what??? Room and board?? for keeping my dog for 4 1/2 hours?? My dog is 4 years old and gets groomed once monthly somewhere, usually at a Petsmart facility. It usually takes between 2-3 hours depending on the quality and focus of the groomer. This was the worst experience we have ever had. I would not recommend this facility for anyone's dog. I will drive the extra hour and a half to go to I85 Exit 12 (Flowery Branch, GA). They always do a good job in about 3 hours.
