.

Their bread is really good and their omelettes are GREAT! I didn't have the smoking problem that the other person had... But I was forced to listen to bad country music that one of the NEW waitress wanted to listen to AT A very loud level and for such an early time in the morning... it just wasn't appropriate... I'm 38 and not a prude... it's a restraurant not a COUNTRY BAR!!!

I had been going to Scrambles for about three years now and on my last visit found out they had a "new owner" which turns out to be most unfortunate. They USED to have excellent food for an excellent price with a family feel. This last visit (which will be my last) I was to find the food had been severely down on quality and taste. I used to compare the pancakes to close to Original Pancake house standards- yet now they taste closer to bisquick. My omelette was without the usual overload of ingrediants- more like eggs with a pinch of this and that. My girlfriends bacon was chewy (undercooked) and midway through our meal a couple near us fired up cigarettes despite the posted "non smoking establishment" signs- and when I objected I was told the "new owner" decided to allow smoking inside- and without a designated area. Quite honestly I feel as if I have lost a long time friend with the change of ownership. I will now be between the Original House of Pancakes and Bread Winners for my weekend breakfasts. Farewell to an old friend. On a side note- they ARE now advertising TexMex "Authentic" Mexican food dinners...

They serve breakfast til they close at 3pm which is nice. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs for 5.99. It was a pretty good piece of meat for the price. Nothing like the fast food places. Didn't appear to be frozen. Eggs are real as you can see the white spots in the scrambled eggs. I didn't see anything on the menu over $7. Service is nothing spectacular. Overall a a good place to get breakfast at a great price.

Pros: Food, prices

Cons: Average service
