Aside from the fantastic 'aura' of the place (blood red building on Hollywood Blvd), it has very great sushi. Their spins on traditional takes makes for a refreshing experience. Great for a gals night out. The main dining area is open air, so bring a sweater.

Great place!

This place is really REALLY nice, the environment is authentic Japanese setting. They have women dressed in the Geisha outfits and the walls are embedded with fabric prints of Japanese art. The vegetable tempura is okay. This place is quite a pricey restuarant.

I was quite excited to dine at the well-known Geisha House in Hollywood last weekend from all the hype I've heard about it. Everything I had heard prior to visit was definitely on par with what I experienced.

Geisha House because it accommodates all type of diners. It's the perfect setting for both a romantic evening with your significant other and a fun night out with a group of friends. As for the food, it simply speaks for itself. Geisha House does a remarkable job at mixing authentic Japanese cuisine with a touch of American fusion and their drinks were quite tasty to say the least.

I was impressed by how professional looking and friendly the staff was. My server was enthusiastic and friendly from start to end. The Geisha House staff makes the restaurant a very inviting environment. . Overall, Geisha House receives a well deserved five stars in my book. I deffinetly recommend it.

The issue with many of LA?s trendy eateries is that they last about as long as the trend their based off of. The Geisha House defies all odds of an ?it? restaurant for many reasons. First, it offers an exceptional product at an acceptable price. While it offers more than just sushi, my favorite rolls are the White Samurai, the Sunset, and the Naked Roll. The fun, fast atmosphere mirrors the unique and unconventional eats and cocktails ?which are a must. Along with the young patrons and good-looking staff, the loud red and black d?cor creates an ambiance like no other. I love this restaurant and definitely recommend it. Weekends are the most vibrant, so make a reservation!

Geisha House is my favorite restaurant in Hollywood! I try and eat here at least once a month. You don't have to like Japanese food to eat here, there is something for everyone!

The food is amazing and the service is excellent! I would recommend the oyster shooters, mongolian lamb chop, and the king crab wrap. If you like sushi the ocean dragon is my favorite speciality roll.

Our server was very extremely attentive and was helpful in assisting us with our order. She made sure that we were happy and always kept our drinks filled.

The best part of this restaurant is the decor, it has a contemorary Asian feel. Everytime I come here it is always really clean.

Theres plenty of places to park: theres a parking lot across the street and a parkin garage up the street within walking distance.

Recently my boyfriend took my to Geisha House to celebrate my new job in LA. I was really excited because I had recently seen Geisha House on The Biggest Loser.

The sushi was amazing and really fresh. The waiters were really friendly and had recommendations for a sushi begginner like myself. Geisha House is pretty trendy and you really get that LA vibe with good music and fun decor.

Hoping to go back soon!

After reading many good reviews and really looking forward to the experience. It was average to say the least. First it is kind of a dirty place, and the tables are kinda of the cheap plastic type found at patio dining places. There are some cool decor idea's, but it looks kind of tired overall.

The service was pretty poor and the waiter/waitress's seem to hang out by thier little order desk and talk, rather than cater to the quests.
The sushi was fresh, and was good, but I think the menu lacked more authentic type dishes. It seemed to be pretty poor coordination on the food service as well, we asked for another glass of wine and after about 15 minutes just asked them to cancel it. The waiter didn't really seem to care either way.

For the price, I would have expected a way better overall experience. We would opt for another place next visit.

I love the view from this restaurant. It is always good service here. pricy a bit

Hands down, best place to eat on Hollywood!!
Food is amazing. Every time I come here, I feel like I never want to leave. Very chic atmosphere with a relaxing mood.
The service is great and the staff really does a terrific job at taking care of you.
The appetizers are delicious. Shishito peppers and Geisha Kiss are great. The Chilean Sea Bass and Red Samurai are GODLY. Try it and give your taste buds the ultimate treat :)

Exquisite dining experience! The ambiance and atmosphere is amazing. The food is delicious! This place is truly a Hollywood hotspot that I would revisit time after time! I recommend anyone who has not been here to come check it out!

Whenever I have clients in from out of town who I need to show the hot and spicy side of Los Angeles, I can never miss with Geisha House on the menu. They manager will even put together a pre-fixed menu for me in advance so that I can make sure I don't spend more than the boss will allow.

The male guests love the girls on the staff who are mesmerizing but surprisingly the women also find the costumes engaging. The whole atmosphere tends to add and extra layer to your dinner.

The food is very good. Not the best. But it is a winning combination.

've been going to Geisha house for sometime now but usually I go on Mondays ( half off) with some friends after work. This week some girlfriends and I went on a Friday night I heard they had a Dj and have a great weekend vibe. We found out that Geisha is definitely more than a restaurant. We had dinner reservations for 8 but showed up early (no problem) We ordered are usually spicy tuna, cowboy roll, sunset roll, and miso soup (just to start) and of course I couldn't go with out my Geisha Kiss but it tasted a little different maybe a bit to strong I told the waiter James he said they just got a new bartender and brought me a new one that tasted just how I like it.

My friends and I ate and talked ate and talked and before we knew it, it was 10:30, from our table we knew the restaurant was packed with a very fun crowd and the DJ was right above us playing music. I would describe it as a dinner club ( on the weekends). We then shared our chocolate cake and made our way to leave so we could go to our next spot, before our way out we arrived and the packed bar and lounge and decide to have some more drinks!. We met some cute guys sat on the couch and enjoyed Geisha for another hour then made our way to the club.

Definitely a fun spot to hit up on the weekends and a relaxed more low key place for the weekdays

i've been coming to Geisha House for years and am finally compelled to write a review. 1st off the design of the restaurant is impeccable and the vibe is electric. The food is fantastic (you must try the albacore carpaccio with crispy wontons and red samurai roll). There is a live DJ and a second level bar for smokers (something rare in most restaurants) basically there is something for everyone there and its definately not to be missed on your next night out in hollywood

August 31, 2010

geisha house is now the most established japanese restaurant in hollywood. i have been here at least 3 times per month. it is the perfect birthday party location. the design of the restaurant is superb and the food to match my wife does not like sushi and many japanses places do not have alternative menus but she is always happy with the karagi chicken and the beef skewers. also the live dj is very good for a party

August 31, 2010

My boyfriend and I have been coming to Geisha House for years ? and we can always count on yummy service and yummy sushi! It?s energy and location in hollywood make for a great spot to pre-drink and share a few bites before a night out ? especially on the weekends when they have a DJ spinning on the balcony. Travis, the general manager, always stops by to say hello and check in on us. They have a great selection of rolls but the sushi chefs are always happy to make modifications to accommodate my favorite combinations. We book the Tatami room with a group for almost every birthday and special occasion. The shishito peppers are our favorite - better than katsuyas.

August 31, 2010

Love this place! Amazing food and great staff. The beer braised short ribs and the cowboy roll are to die for. A good place to come to before hitting the clubs as well.

August 18, 2010

Food is delicious, atmosphere is great, service is amazing.

August 17, 2010

I can't say enough about this restaurant - every time I've had the pleasure of experiencing this amazing spot I've been more then happy - it's so much more then just another hip place to dine in Hollywood - it's a place to spend your entire evening - with a bar downstairs on the main dining floor and 2 upstairs in the moon room, geisha not only has delicious food and great service but also offers a club atmosphere that is very socially inviting and enticing - I can't even name all the celebrities I've seen throughout the 4 years I've been going here as well - I recommend Geisha House to anyone interested in more then just a great meal!!!

August 17, 2010

The sushi is fantastic...the scene is fun, the drinks are strong, the staff are hot...
Where else can you say it was worth every penny.

August 05, 2010

Wow! My first time dining at Geisha House. The food was amazing, the service was outstanding. The experience was unreal!!! I will be back! Try The Sunset Roll, The Cowboy, and the Shishito peppers were sooooo good! 5 thumbs up!

From NY and came to Geisha House for a speed dating event at Speed LA Dating. I had never been to Geisha House before and really enjoyed myself. Thought the ambiance was chill, drinks were great and loved the patio we were on. The event had food but I didn't get a chance to try any of it. Would absolutely go back for dinner. I can't tell you how surprised I was to see negative reviews for this place. This must be hollywood competition angry that their still so popular. Who knows. I liked it.

Pros: great energy, strong drinks

February 19, 2010

Doesn't get more LA than this. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the Geisha House. I like its decor, they have great drinks, but their sushi is just ehhh.

If you're just looking for a nice place to hang out and socialize, have a few drinks than ok. But for good sushi go somewhere else.

Pros: fun atmosphere, good drinks

Cons: pricy, LA attitude

January 12, 2010

Creative cocktails and electric atmosphere.

Pros: Marilyn Monroll

Cons: Parking can be difficult, but they have valet

January 06, 2010

Yumm. Sushi.

the sushi was really good, and not even as expensive as i expected it to be, but the waiter we had was rude and didnt really help us, i asked him what the person was having at the table next to us was having and his answer: "its in the menu" the sushi was really good, the atmosphere was great, music, everything, just not so great service.

Pros: Sushi was good

Cons: horrible service

July 08, 2009

one of my favorite places in LA! Very hip vibe with an excellent menu to back it up!

April 27, 2009

The sushi here is phenomenal. My mouth felt like it was exploding with fireworks of different flavors when I tried one of their rolls. It's a bit expensive but the decor and sushi definitely fits the price. Last time I came to the Geisha House, P Diddy was just making his way out.

I am tied in with all the top notch hollywood events (ex. H.wood, The Kress, The Playboy Mansion, ETC.). I can refer you to the best venue on any given night. for guestlist consideration to your desired venue, contact me by sending me your facebook link and number of your party to: brookeytp@gmail com

Pros: some of the best sushi i've had in LA

Cons: very expensive

February 05, 2009

I couldn't believe the wide variety of items on their menu and how good they all were!!!
I live in OC and can't wait for the Geisha House in Santa Ana to open!!!!
ARIGATO!

Pros: Food, service and ambiance

Cons: Music was a bit loud

December 17, 2008

this is definitely the kind of place i would go to after work if i wanted to get dressed up a bit and have a few drinks with friends and try to relax. the food isnt spectacular, but it is good. I just see this place as more of a drinks and good times kind of place.

October 31, 2008

Maybe the below reviewers went to a different restaurant, but my experience at geisha house was really nice! the first thing that stands out is the really cool, futuristic-Japanese atmosphere...there's red lighting and avante garde decorations. i went with a date and he got the lampchops which were perfectly moist, and i got the blushing geisha sushi roll...then we split the surf and turf roll. both rolls were extremely fresh and unlike any other sushi rolls i have ever ordered. while it was a bit pricey, it was completely worth it because the food and the decor were perfect for a special occassion. i will definitely go back!

Pros: great decor and creative sushi

Cons: not a week night local sushi hang-out!

September 30, 2008

I love geisha house 8 out of 10 times we've been had wonderful experience. Went again a few Saturdays ago, and this time realized why this place doesn't always get the best reviews. (Also just went to Katsuya hollywood and can't resist to compare).I already knew it had to do with the food, so lets start there. Order what the waiter recommends, they always seem to know best, or take my recommendations. Order: spicy tuna crispy rice, albacore carpaccio, kobe, lamb, red samurai, surf and turf, all the sushi wraps. This last visit we ventured out to try new things but weren't so pleased. Now, compared with Katsuya, the food is about equal in taste, except dessert is a different story. Molten lava cake, molten lava cake!! Also the fried bananas and fruit wontons. Worth every calorie. Next problem people seem to have is the service. I have to say it just depends on the luck of the draw. Most times we have had great and sometimes really fun service, but this time not so much. I understand that usually when a restaurant gets busy the service might go down a bit but I don't appreciate rushed service where I feel like I'm annoying the waitress. This time it wasn't even that busy, how rude!! I did hear that the restaurant is under new management, so maybe they don't understand that you shouldn't just hire a waitress because she's pretty. However i won't let 1 bad waitress ruin all my experiences at Geisha. My husband made a good point, to request a server, if they allow you to do that. Ryan, Alicia, Tiffany, Alan, are amazing. Don't remember the others by name, but we've had a few more and they were really good as well. Next on the list where you sit, and it was our first time at the upstairs bar, and we hated it. People smoking, dirty tables (yuck). Last to compare, drinks. Great sake list, and a variety of delicious martini drinks, Try the geisha cosmo, kiss, or minori. Also good drinks at Katsuya but the bartenders serving them.....not as friendly or as good looking.

Pros: Service most the time, Food, and DRINKS.

September 26, 2008

I went with a group of friends last Saturday night...The place was packed, and with good looking people. I have never been to a restaurant that had more large parties of good looking women; groups of six and eight of them celebrating bachelorette and birthday parties. The vibe was fun and upbeat. The DJ was spinning a great mix of 80's 90's classics with a dance beat. The food is great for groups, served family style so I got to try a bunch of different dishes. The Taru Taru is amazing. Our server was very helpful in suggesting dishes for us to try; she actually brought us a free round of shots. I will return and suggest it to my friends.

Pros: Great atmosphere

July 30, 2008

I liked how they have more than just sushi.. yea.. that's great too, but they work in other things that bring in some flair...

try the cowboy roll if you don't like sushi, and the red samurai if you do..other good dishes is the black cod and the skewers.

talk to Will (freakin hilarious) or Hannah, the someliers, because they're super nice and they know their drinks!

ambiance is nice..so is the decor. and the geisha's walking around adds to it.

May 22, 2008

This is a great place for creative sushi rolls. The atmosphere and decor are unique and add a great vibe to the restaurant. The tables are spread out so that each party can enjoy their meals privately, which is definitely a plus considering many other restaurants pack you in. Sushi is overall good, but can be pricey. I tried some sort of chicken appetizer there once and it was not good. I'd stick with the sushi and tempura here. Also, both times I've been here I've had great waiters who were very attentive and made the experience that much more enjoyable.

Pros: Sushi, service, trendy atmosphere

Cons: Chicken appetizer

April 12, 2008

April 11, 2008

I have been here several times with large groups, small groups, dates etc...Everytime I have a great or at least good time. This time I had an EXCELLENT time. Our server's name was Tiffany and she was fantastic! She remembered my friend who had dined their almost six months ago and what he ordered!!! Since I brought two guests who had not eaten here before she suggested we have the chef bring out what he recommended! EVERYTHING was amazing! We ordered a couple of nice bottles of sake and the presentation was fantastic. The bill was half of what I thought it would be and everyone I brought loved the place! (Thank goodness since I pushed to come here) I should mention we had reservations, so I would suggest having reservations as I understand it gets rather busy for dinner. Also, my favorite dishes were the miso soup with crab, the (I think they were grilled?) peppers, the steak and the albacore. Although everything we ate was delicious!

Pros: Fantastic service, great food, choice of self parking or valet

Cons: none I can think of

April 07, 2008

GREAT GREAT GREAT NEVER LIKED SUSHI UNTIL I WENT TO THIS PLACE. ITS A FUN PLACE THE MUSIC IS GREAT THE SERVICE IS FUN.

Pros: PARKING

April 03, 2008

This place is awesome. My friends and i dined at Geisha around 5pm, its the best time to go because its not too busy and your already sat when the crowd starts pouring in. The service was cool and friendly, sushi is fresh, and perfect. You have to make a reservation or you will be waiting for hours! Also if you wanna see stars go early! Bai Ling and some reality star came in at the same time we did. Its a must if your in the LA area.

March 06, 2008

I under estimated this place. I thought that their sushi was going to be below average but oh boy was I wrong. I had a quick dinner here with friends and I must say that their sushi is fresh and I do recommend this place. This is also a god place to just go have drinks before heading out to a club. I've done that a few times.

February 25, 2008

I have been to Geisha House several times and have never been dissapointed. Yes, the service is sometimes slow but the food has always been amazing. My favorite thing ever is the Hollywood Roll. It is sooo good! I have also tried the Cowboy Roll and Ocean Dragon Roll which were also both pretty good. For non sushi eaters the Udon Noodles with Beef are excellent as well as the Rock Shrimp Tempura. The atmosphere is loud yet upbeat and fun. Great for dinner and drinks before a night out with friends. (Les Deux, Element, and LAX are all within walking distance). The bar is awesome too!

Pros: Fun, Upbeat Atmosphere, Close to many clubs/bars, GREAT Food

Cons: Service is sometimes slow

February 17, 2008

Geisha House is 'typical' glamour by overrated LA standards. Come to stargaze, get some ambiance, and sip decent drinks with 'decked-out' friends willing to go with the flow. The live DJ and Tokyo cityscape against neon lights make it a great amp for the post-show doldrums. The wait can be long unless you know or pay the staff, which is comprised mostly of socialite-esque, asian when available, ditzes. The BLACK COD is delicious, but the sushi average vis-a-vis LA's other options. If you've got time, money, and are easy to please, enjoy Geisha House's change of scenery for a late night weekday treat.

Pros: Black cod

Cons: Carefree staff

February 17, 2008

The Sushi was great however I absolutely fell in love with a few of the Hot Dishes. The Mongolian Lamb chops were amazing. The Alaskin King Crab Legs were incredible. If you like Cod then you have to try their Black Cod (the sauce it comes with is finger licking goos)! Can't wait to comeback next Friday night.

Pros: Food, service and ambiance

Cons: None

February 07, 2008

THE BLACK COD IS TO DIE FOR!!! This place in unreal! The decor is captivating, staff is professional and knowledgable, food is deliciously creative and this place exudes sexiness!

January 31, 2008

Basically every Japanese fusion restaurant carries the same menu, teppanyaki filet mignon, spicy tuna crispy rice .. etc.
Geisha House's dishes are decent and if it's your first time trying Japanese fusion food, you would definitely like it. The crispy rice is a signature dish but all in all, there are better Asian fusion restaurants available and within the same price range , for example Koi restaurant.

The restaurant can get quite noisy since there's a bar scene other than the dining area. The decor is unique and it's worth checking out.

November 11, 2007

I went to Geisha House before a show, so it wasn't very busy. We were seated promptly and because the restaurant was not busy we were served very quick. The sushi was amazing, we enjoyed a couple of rolls and some sashimi. All was very tasty and fresh. It is expensive, as was expected from a trendy spot in Hollywood. I would definitely go back. The bar looked fun too!

October 04, 2007

great service and waitress was honest. not exactly a romantic place to go on a date, went on a tuesday night and felt like it was saturday. overall the atmosphere was great, good strong drinks, sushi was amazing. definitely a place i will come back to.

Pros: food, drinks, atmosphere

Cons: too loud
