The hospital campus has great potential, but has very little chance of moving forward unless someone more suited for foundation president is selected.\r

I used this hospital for an outpatient procedure and was very satisfied. Check in was efficient, nursing care good, and the procedure was successful.

On 12/01/2006 I went to Jackson Hospital for tests. The so called nurse told me she was going to give me sugar water in my IV. I told her I could not have sugar, that I have low sugar. She told me that I could. I told her that I have lived with this for about 20 years and I know what sugar does to me. I told her it could put me in a coma. She started yelling at me that I did not know what I was talking about. She said if you have low sugar you need sugar. I told her I would get dressed and leave if she was going to give me sugar water. She did not give it to me. But on the way to the room for the tests she damn near threw me off the cart. They sent me home without me getting to talk to the Doctor. Seven days after the test my regular Doctor still did not have a report from the hospital. I had to call the Doctor that did the tests to find out how things where. They were not good. I went 7 days without medical help and when I did get it, it was only because I called. Jackson H. was told to send the report to my Doctor. After I called about this they still want me to pay for this so-called care. I could have lost part of my colon if I had not called about the tests. And they want me to Pay for this. Oh they did send me a letter saying they apologize for any discomfort or inconvenience that I MAY have experienced. Gee Thanks.

My youngest daughter had surgery there last year and the staff was very efficient. The only thing about this hospital is finding your way around. It is large and can be confusing, so make sure to ask and pay attention when they are explaining it to you. For the most part the staff that we have encountered have been friendly and professional. For my daughter's surgery, my wife and I were both allowed to go back with her (she was 3) while they did some of the prep work. The only thing that they did that I wasn't too thrilled about (though, I will say they told us up front that it would be that way), only one of us could go with her to the doors of surgery. It was hard, for my wife and I to have to "decide" who would be going with her and wouldn't!!! Her surgery, thankfully went well and she was in recovery before too long. There wasn't a lot of activity in our little room, until right around the time she was coming around. Within, a short period of time they were releasing us to go. I was a little shocked (I told my wife, they wanted us out of there before she came around too much and cried...LOL) but she had a pretty easy recovery and we were a lot more comfortable after getting her home! I was pleased at how things turned out and the staff did what they had to do and allowed us to be with her, I guess for as much of it as possible. On a side note with a little bit of humor.....I was visiting a friend there a while back, up in a rehab type area. The nurse was doing something and the end of his bed fell off, causing a LOUD bang as it fell to the floor. I will say that the staff, came running from all different directions (now I can't say if they were coming to help or coming to see what caused such a LOUD noise, but they did come!!) Of course, they weren't the only ones, patients began strolling the hallways as well, maybe that is part of the rehab to get patients up and moving!!
