Hi!
Dear Fellow City Search Members,
I have been going to Better Deal Auto for a long time.
Almost three years ago, my first encounter was this:
My parking light burnt out I stop at O'Reilly's Auto Store and pick up the bulbs and I quickly pulled into Better Deal Auto with an SUV loaded with kids. I explained the situation and one of the guys took off my front grill to get access to the light box and fixed it for free! I was like WOW, really?!
A month later I needed an oil changes and it was only $13.95! And you get in and out rather quickly. A bonus they put a sticker on your window to make sure you know when to change it again. (Since than 2 years ago the price has increased to $14.95).
I loved the service, and got my first tune up a couple of months later. My SUV ran like a champ! I was so pleased that my sister took her two cars in for service.
Now it's three years later and I was at another auto store just this past WEEK run by a HUGE franchise (not going to mention as that would be RUDE) (I went there because my battery was bought there and under a warranty) Any way, they said I needed to replace my alternator. They replaced the battery for free plus a labor charge to put in the new one. I said I have an auto guy already, to give me a written estimate. The next day, I took it to Better Deal Auto and he tested it and said the alternator is fine holds the voltage just fine. That saved me money for the alternator!
It's time to do some other work on it. So, I am having other work done as I write this. Tune up, alignment and fixing my DVD's screens in the headrest (all the kids will be SO happy!). My SUV is old but has been a great vehicle for MANY years. It's paid off and it a good SUV to drive. My young son says NEVER sell it! lol
I am a working mom and every dollar counts, especially when you have an illness (cancer). I would recommend this shop to any MOM or DAD.
As I mentioned before driving an SUV that's older as you know, needs regular maintenance to keep running smooth and like it was a new SUV.
If you want fair pricing and good work. This is the place for you. You will find that you are NOT a number or another job but a person, neighbor and friend.
What more can I say?!
: )
: )
Take your auto or SUV in and see the difference. Pricing also! In this economy ALL OF THE ABOVE counts!
MominSpring. Take care!
Oh yeah, I f orgot to mention last year my brother-in-law had an issue with his Stratus he called them and they came to PICK UP his car (towed). He has had no problems and it's been almost a year since it happened.

I have been taking my car to this shop for a couple years now and everytime I go there they make my auto repair experience as painless as possible. Being as though I am a single mom, I have to watch every penny. The mechanics at Better Deal are straight foreward with me. If I have a problem with my car, they will take me to my car and point it out. Then they give me the best price they can. I know because I check part prices! I would highly recommend this shop to anyone who needs to not only save money, but also to those who enjoy working with honest, straight foreward people.

I took my car to Better Deal for a new water pump and timing belt. They weer the cheapest and they got the work done in a timely manner. I didnt have a problem with the place at all. Casey tries his best to satisfy the customer and keep them coming back. I have went back there for a few other minor jobs as well. I would recommend this place to someone who is looking for the best deal.

I have had a long and challenging battle with my car and Casey. My car is still in its 90days and he is refusing to fix it. He made me drive off the lot with a promise of fixing it if the check engine light did not turn off. He said the only way we are going to get anything out of him is if we take him to court. If you are going to do business with Casey be prepared for his lies, abstinence of conversation, poor language, work not done right and in the end, over priced. All I left his shop with was a bigger headache, a smaller pocket book and a car that is no better living the shop as it came in. You??ll have better luck doing your business somewhere else. Thank you and have a blessed day.

My truck had a problem. Owner said it was a coil spring. He said if it wasn't the coil spring he would refund all our money. Parts and labor. Well, guess what? He was WRONG! It was not the coil spring and he DID NOT stick by his word and refund my money. I paid him over $500.00 for nothing! I took it to another mechanic and the mechanic fixed the problem--it was just a little bushing.

Pros: they are great small talkers

Cons: small shop, busy road, not capable on working on trucks, lie, do not know what they are doing

I took my care to this location for a major tune-up, oil change, front brakes, and to replace a blown coil. I was excited because they gave me a good price and they were friendly. When I got the car back, it drove really good, but the next day, I heard the brakes squeaking again. I took the car back and they guy said that they had forgot to put the brakes on and they forgot to change the oil as well. By this time, I am very upset and shocked that someone could forget something like that. The guy told me to come back the next day and he would take care of it. i went back the next day and he tells me that he can't get the brake pads because they are hard to come by. He already knew that I was coming back that day, so why didnt he order them the night before??? I was so upset that I told the guy that I just wanted my money back for the brakes so i could take my care else where and he refused to give me my money back. He said that they have a no money back policy (no sign was posted), but the would fix it on Monday and "throw in a few free oil changes." In my opion, that is not a way to do business and I don't appreciate having to waste my time going back and forth to their location when they are the ones who made the mistake. I would no recommend this facility to anyone!!

I had such a good experience at Better Deal Auto! The first time I went in to this other place (Barry's on Shoal Creek) it was supposed to be $38 for freon in my ac but their "credit card machine was down" and all I had in cash was two twenties. Supposedly he didn't have change either so he said he'd just "owe me two bucks." When my ac stopped cooling again soon, I went back and they didn't charge me for more freon, which they did put in, but they told me that I must have a leak. They couldn't find the leak under the hood, so it must be in the evaporator up under the dashboard. Removing the dashboard was very laborious, so it was going to cost $500-600. So, I went to Casey over at Better Deal Auto on Steubner Airline across from Klein High School, for a second opinion, and he immediately saw the leak (under the hood!) and pointed it out to me. The whole repair only ended up costing a few bucks for new hoses and freon. I was SO glad he was there and so much more honest! Casey has also done other work for me when other places wanted to charge a whole lot more. I don't know why I didn't go to him for the ac first! I'll definitely keep going there in the future!
