We had a wedding party dinner here and a bridal shower. The owners are great and the food was delicious. Good size for a medium size get together or dinner party additional parking in the back.

I had heard great things about this restaurant and was eager to try it. My family, about 10 of us, gathered here for a birthday dinner. The appetizers we ordered were very good. Then the waiter brought out bread that was so hard and stale that we couldn't eat it. The second batch was much better.
The main dishes were brought out and we all began to eat. First my husband noticed a hair in the sauce that was on top of his lamb chops. He put it to the side and didn't make an issue out of it. Then my father who had Veal found a hair in his vegetables. Before we had the chance to inform the waiter, I found yet another hair in my 3 year old daughters pasta. We discretly informed the waiter and showed him the three black hairs that we had found. He told us that he would tell the chef.
When our waiter came back he said that it was impossible because all of the cooks had very short hair. He was very nice about it, but didn't really do anything to remedy the matter. We paid the bill and then the waiter gave me a business card and told me that there wasn't a manager there and to calll tomorrow to complain. Whatever! I never called and I'm never going back. My dish, while lacking in little black hairs also lacked in flavor.

We just went to West Coast Cafe this past weekend and had a wonderful dining experience. The staff is so cordial and professional. The food is outstanding, some of the best I have ever tasted. The restaurant is quaint and extremely clean. I would highly recommend this to everyone!

Good prices, so-so food

We went to West Coast Cafe for dinner, I had read the one review of the restaurant and it was a good review. I should remember that no everyone has good taste.
The prices were reasonable but the food was just average. I had the capellini w/basil garlic tomato sauce, couldn't taste the basil as there was very little, no garlic taste at all, I had the waiter put cheese on it when it was served and when he came back to fill our water I asked for more cheese, the pasta needed flavor, it was extremely boring without the cheese and that didn't even help very much. My son had the veal filled canelloni, he gave me a bite, no taste, very finely ground up meat, almost like baby food. This is not a restaurant I would go to again and surely wouldn't recommend it to friends.
Pros: clean, cloth linens
Cons: food

What a place! Food is very good, servers are friendly, and a very inexpensive Italian restaurant.
This is a hidden treasure right in the middle of alot of Asian rerstaurants on San Mateo Ave. @ Jenevein.
Try it You'll like it!!!!
Pros: Great Italian cuisine
