Pros: Fall off the bone ribs, locally owned

Cons: Take out service slow

On several recommendations from friends and news articles I went to the Front Range BBQ (the Templeton Gap location); ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of slaw.
The sandwich came with barely enough brisket to cover the bun. The meat was fatty and tough.
The BBQ sauces were watery and had no hint of personality. The strange "onion straws" were so tough and stringy I thought I was eating dental floss. Finally, the slaw and dressing tasted two weeks stale.
There's nothing I can praise about Front Range. I can see the kitchen having an "off day." But, geez, isn't consistently GOOD food the hallmark of what KEEPS the customers coming in?

The restaurant was recommended by our tour guide on the pike's peak cog railway. The offer a wide variety of barbequed items. The pulled pork was the best I have ever eaten (apparently it is award winning). This restaurant is off the beaten path, so it is mostly local diners. Well worth looking for.
