I remember being overwhelmed by this hospital when first walking in 12 yrs ago for prenatal care, but the Guest Relations area guided me where to go. JPS is Tarrant County's district public hospital. I applied for classification(reduced healthcare cost) as well as applied for Medicaid, all on my first appointment. Be prepared to wait atleast 1hour at all appointments. The pharmacy was the longest wait and was congested with patients. I don't know if they've improved through the years, I hope so. Overall, we received great healthcare for me and my baby. There were only 3 or 4 birthing suites, sterile delivery rooms, a recovery room for all to share and semi-private rooms to be with your baby afterwards. They have a parking garage on site, as well as parking on the nearby streets. My best advice: bring something to keep you busy at appointments(magazine, book, handheld game), and don't bring your kids if you don't have to.

PROS: lowcost (good)healthcare if you don't have insurance
CONS: long wait, congested with patients
