I agree that they overcharge for labor. I took my car there to get a simple repair that took an hour, but got charged for two hours. I am a good customer and went there before, and had to take my car back repeatedly because the repair needed to be adjusted. They didn't charge me for that, but it was a pain. Unfortunately, they are the only game in town for what they do.

I recently brought my car to car toyz for the installation of a remote starter which I supplied. The labor rate is $95/hr. The installation took 45 minutes and I was charged $190.00 for labor. I was told that no matter how long a job takes the customer is charged a minimum of 2 hours labor. Are you kidding me? How can they get away with that?

I concur, they gave me a pick up date that was off by days. The work done was no where near worth the money paid. They even kept a replaced item, said it was thrown away. It was very usable as a back up part, and cost $250 (cargo cover). They could not do any fabrications so anything advanced was out. I plan to do more work on that car and another, will go somewhere else.

I've had my 2008 tahoe detailed from the chevy dealer before. Had to take it back after they finished, because I was very unhappy with their work - didn't shampoo the carpets, or even remove stains from the trim. I recently took the truck to Car Toyz, their price was reasonable, and most importantly, the truck was immaculate - I don't think it was that clean when I bought it! There were some stains in the carpet, and some surface scratches on the paint. All of that was gone when they gave me the truck back. I will get my vehicles detailed by Car Toyz exclusively from now on. Great job guys!!

Southern NJ is a very strange area for car enthusiasts. There really is not much around in terms of full service performance and mobile electronic installation facilities. Car Toyz is the lone place that I trust for car accessory installation. Their product prices are comparable to the legitimate online outlets, like Crutchfield. Not cheap, but there is a reason - support. If something happens, you have recourse. The staff at Car Toyz doesn't seem to change. Turnover is not good for any business OR their customers and James, the owner, knows this, so he keeps his staff together and consistent.. They have Tommie from Beacon, Paul from Beacon, Lee from One Stop and a host of other top notch pros from the area. It is a who's who if you ask me. If I had any complaints about them, it would be that they don't seem to use the enclosure building programs that have been proven to beat factory specs for performance. I know space savings is a concern but the option for building a completely optimized speaker box should be available. The customer should be quizzed about what they want to use the item for (type of music, etc) and how important it is to them to save space, and why. I also have noticed that they will say to ""just bring the car in"" but many times that can translate to a LONG wait. However, in the end, it is worth it. These are little things they can tweak but the end result is what counts and Car Toyz succeeds.

P.S. It is funny, with businesses like this, people are less prone to take the time to review the business UNLESS they have an issue. Then they want to make noise. I wish more of Car Toyz's satisfied customers would take a minute or two to leave some positive comments for an operation that obviously is the best in the area.

I had a problem with my radio that was installed by Car Toyz. I brought in to be repaired, they told me no appointment neccesary. when I arrived they said they were too busy to look at it.That was only the begining of my terrible service. I called numerous times to see when it would be best to drop it off. The guy who answers the phone is a rude idiot. I eventually spoke with James, the manager. He reassured me to bring it in anytime and he will personally take care of it. Again B.S, My radio is still not fixed and Car Toyz is unable to help me.Everyone that works there is very rude and I would Never reccomend anyone to go there.

Said it would take about 4.5 hours to 5 hours to install on a manual car. After 2 FULL days of work=15 hours, it was finally done. I wish i never dropped my car off and had them work on it. Im sure they do other work ok, but i will never go back again unless i have to for a warranty issue.

Pros: they seem to be believable

Cons: took 15hrs to install a remote start on a manual car.

This is one shop that car lovers will want to visit. They specialize in car detailing, rims, window tinting, installation of keyless entry,
car alarms, and auto-start which is great for the winter - you don't have to sit in your cold car while it is warming up and likewise the summer when it is hot you won't have to sit in your hot car while the air condition gets up and running. They have a new location which is on Devin's Lane in Pleasantville across from Kmart.
