I have had children in this daycare for the past 7 and a half years. The Owner/Director is highly qualified. The staff is fablous - and very qualified. I'm not sure who said there isn't a plan for the Pre-K room but that is not true. It is posted on the wall and followed daily. Most (75%) of the employees have been there since I started sending my kids there. There was a period of high turnover for one room but with the exception of one teacher not returning for personal reasons, there has been no turnover for the last 2+ years. The quality of care my children receive is extremely important as well as what they are being taught. I wouldn't send my children there if they weren't up to par.

I think people also need to realize that this rented space and while it may seem outdated, there isn't a whole lot she can do. The center is very clean and all center employees use gloves while diaper changing.

For the previous employee who was there for 1 month - I disagree with you completely. They have never hesitated to call me when my children were sick - nap time or not. I have never seen an employee NOT wash their hands, the diaper changing station or the children - ever. There are strict state requirements about child/teacher ratios and Friendly Faces - just as any other day care provider - can have times when children arrive early/picked up late that throws the ratio. They do their best to accomodate parents. I believe your post shows why you are no longer employed there. Please re-check it for your grammatical and spelling mistakes.

My son has been attending FF for 15 months now and I have been extremely happy! I admit that the facility is older, and is not state of the art like some of the new daycare facilities, but I feel that the appearance is nothing next to the quality of care and love that my child receives there. They routinely have the rugs cleaned and have updates done such as painting and repairs. The staff is always careful to maintain the proper ratio of children:staff, and with it being a "smaller facility" my son gets what I feel to be a substantial amount of attention. He loves his teachers and is happy to be dropped off each day. There is always a schedule of activities for the week, and I feel their days are well organized, instructive, and fun for the kids. Even at 18 months, my son has learned a lot of new things both from his teacher and just from interacting with other kids.
The baby room is fantastic. It is well isolated from the rest of the group, and the main teacher has been working there for more than 20 years. All of the staff seems well qualified and always has a cheerful and loving attitude toward all of the children. I also know that the pre-K teacher has an education degree and the kids have lesson plans and learn a lot to prepare them for kindergarten. I have not seen any turnover in the 15 months we've been going (with the exception of 1 person leaving for personal reasons). They are very good about working around your schedule. My husband worked shift work when we first started, and they were fine with us picking up/dropping off at different times in the baby room.
Overall, I would highly recommend FF. If you're into the moderness and regime of a place like the Goddard school, this might not be the daycare for you. But if you just want a place where your child will be safe, loved, and well-cared for, this will probably work out well.

I could never recommend this day care to anyone. The facility is substandard, the outside playground is dingy, and the rate of turnover is very high even by day care standards. Worst of all, the owner/director is disinterested, defensive and difficult; she is essentially a bully to both parents and her staff. Our new day care is a dream by comparison.

Our oldest child was enrolled here for over three years and over that time we saw the facilities go down hill tremendously. The infant room is by far the nicest/cleanest. Overall, the facilities are dirty and depressing - I got depressed just dropping them off in the morning. There were many times when there were too many children given the number of staff. There is no teaching plan for the pre-school or pre-k rooms. Once we moved our child to a new facility, we saw a tremendous increase in what he/she was learning and no longer encountered crying in the morning when he/she was dropped off. They seem to put the kids in front of the tv a lot to babysit them and have few organized activities for the younger children. The owner/director can be difficult to deal with and with the exception of the infant room, the staff is not well-qualified. Given what other facilities in Havertown offer for the same price or less, you should expect more from this facility than what you are getting. I would never reccomend this facility to anyone.

This daycare is in a safe location. The staff is dependable, and I think that they do take good care of the child. However, there could be some updates made to the facility. I read the comment about how the workers dont wash their hands or wipe the children with diaper changes and I hope that this is not true!!

I worked there for 1 months it look dirty but I knew a girl who was working there that got me the job so I thought it would be ok. well I saw too many kids with not enough teachers. The owner is never there. I had a kid with 103.2 fever and told me to wait untill nap was over they hate to all parents. the kids were never wiped after a diaper change. Teacher never washed their hands after changing a baby. The state was visting 3 times in one months.

Checked out his daycare center when I was looking for full time daycare for my baby. I was not impressed. This basement facility was dark and outdated. They had areas in the baby room that just didn't look safe to me. I couldn't imagine putting my baby in this dark, depressing looking facility for 8+ hours a day. The staff seemed friendly and qualified, but I couldn't get over the look of the facility.
