KeySpan is one of Brooklyn's largest distributor of natural gas and the largest in the Northeast United States. Their focus is on the customer and their needs. They offer many energy-related products, services, and solutions to homes and businesses.

Tech-speak aside, we use Con Edison for light & energy, Keyspan for our gas. This is basically what the majority of Brooklyn homeowners and business owners use. Our house uses gas NOT oil to heat our home because it's cleaner, safer and more environmentally friendly & well, we don't like the smell of stinky oil heat in our home. We have a 10 year contract with them and anytime anything goes wrong, we call Keyspan. Keyspan checks your gas heaters, boilers, air conditioning, pool heating, chimney, etc. We've had some scares these past few years and Keyspan has come through for us so MANY times, it's alarming. The antiquated boiler had to be replaced, we've had occurrences of gas, the boiler spewing water and almost blowing etc. and Keyspan treats all of these things as the emergencies they are. When you contact them, the reps give you specific details on what to do and what knobs or buttons you need to activate/deactivate while waiting for the professionals at Keyspan to come assess the situation.

They do not laugh off or trivialize potential incidents concerning heating or gas and treat each situation with the seriousness and concern it warrants. Basically, if you're calling Keyspan for them to come out to your home or business, you're in a potentially dangerous situation. They're like the Gas Police. When you call them for one thing, they go down a list of other potential problems that may result from your incident and isolate them from a check list to make sure your home is safe from harm. Professionals through and through. Highly recommended. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

PROS: Really Reasonable Rates, Contracts, 24 Hrs Emergency Service
CONS: Sometimes you have to wait a bit (30-60 min) if they're back-logged
