I worked foe the k.E.Binder Co. from '71 thru 79. It hurts meto read these review's about what has happened to the company. In MY time,no way would a vehicle be allowedout the door without being PERFECT! The customer was to inspect the car

Was recommended by a friend for installing a replacement top on a 1964 Ford Galaxie XL convertible. Talked to the foreman and provided all the new parts he recommended.
Car was there for 4 days, twice as long as stated.
# 1 problem, weather-strip installed totally incorrectly, damage to 2 pieces of weather-strip
# 2 problem, wrinkles in the top, not installed correctly
# 3 problem, back seat bottom seam torn open
Basically, here is your car, have a good day!

Foreman came to my house to fix the weather-strip, instead, he cut a piece making it too short. Called and talked to owner and foreman, will review car when I take out of winter storage and fix then. I felt like they would fix the problems.

WRONG

Spring, and the wrinkles they said would go away, didn't. Owner and foreman came to the house, reviewed the car and agreed to re-install the top, get a new weather-strip kit to replace the one they cut and fix the back seat. Owner said he would get the kit and call me. 6 weeks later, I called him, 10 times. I finally went through our mutual friend and then he called back, "What did I want"

He said bring the car in and he would fix, I call to see if he got the kit, no return call.

Ended in small claims court and I was ordered to give him a chance to fix the car.

He fixed the seat, made the top worse and didn't do much with the weather-striping.

Back to court, the judge reviewed the car and ordered him to replace the weather-strip, pay to fix the well liner he messed up and court costs.

He still hasn't paid, I now need to go back to court and pay additional funds to have a seizure notice against him.

My advice, try Pete?s in Taylor. They are listed at the Robbins site as recommended installers. K. E. Binders was, but I was told they were taken off based on this court case.

My wife and I went to K E Binder to have our living room set re-upholstered.
The set consisted of a love seat, couch and recliner.
We also had a Corniss board re-done.
I talked my wife into letting KE Binder do it because I am a car nut and appreciated their craftsmanship restoring automotive interiors.
We were promised our furniture would be done within a ten-day period. We did not get our furniture back until after the third month.
This leads me to the old saying.
Don't order steak at a Coney Island restaurant.
If you want a good steak go to a place that specializes in steak.
Interiors for automobiles are pre-assembled kits sent from a manufacturer to job shops like KE Binder.
There they strip the old interior covers and replace them with the ones that were ordered. This is quite simple if that is your specialty.
With furniture it is, as you would say apples and oranges.
There are no kits for furniture and you need a person who specializes in the field of furniture restoring.
There has to be a person with the experience of restoring the given furniture to the original condition, as when it was new. When we gave K E Binder our furniture, (unknown to us), K E Binder did not have a person that specialized in furniture, so the owner asked the employees that work on cars to reupholster our furniture. The end result is, we have very poorly sewn seat covers in our living room.
Our furniture came to us in worse condition then when we gave it to K E Binder.

Granted the guys working there did the best they could and were always very polite, but a company is only as good as their leadership.
The owner has yet to return our calls and leaves us to believe,
K E Binder does not stand by their work.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Hopefully I will be able to write and let you know if there is a poitive out come and my feelings towards K E Binder changes.
