Went in for lunch the other day to meet a friend for lunch. Well, she cancelled and I had lunch on my own. The wait staff was very welcoming and soon I wasn't feeling alone at all. Food was delicious and priced right. I'll def be going

A sorry lot of burn outs, wet brains and violent phyco's make up most of the cast.

Good place to lose your teeth.

Enter at your own risk.

Outstanding local bar who welcomed 2 MA (Boston) residents without fanfare and B.S. Bartenders Tom and Owen are great and will make you feel right at home..Prices not even close to crazy max $$$$ NYC can be...Recommend this establisment to one and all...

So a friend of mine told me I had to go to Cassidy's, so I did. got there about 1:30-2a. I sat down to have a beer at the bar and the bartender was an amazing person. Ray I believe. Met some pretty nice people there and had a blast. Ray made sure I could get back to the hotel okay and I really want to go back and have another great experience. Yet another bar I closed down in NYC :)

Had read some rave reviews, and so decided to give Cassidy's a try for lunch. Couldn't find much to ""rave"" about, though. The atmosphere was dark and chilly, with a dank smell of stale beer. The burger I ordered seemed indifferently made - the accompanying lettuce, tomato and raw onion looked tired, and the meat was dry (which was surprising, since they seem to pride themselves on ""juicy burgers."") The fries were hot and nice, though.\r
\r
Service was initially as cold as the bar, but warmed up a bit towards the end. Ultimately, this struck me as the kind of place that works best if you keep your expectations low, bring friends, and drink a lot of beer. Since I can't often do that in the middle of a workday, I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. \r

My wife and I spent a couple of very enjoyable hours here over Christmas, we went for lunch and ended up having a couple of drinks at the bar afterwards. The food was excellent ( we had fish & chips and chicken pot-pie, enough to feed an army !), the waitstaff were warm and funny, full of Irish charm and the prices were very reasonable for midtown.

I would have given this place 5 stars if the Irish waitresses were not such rude nasty sloths!!!! We walked in and my friends kid was crying a little. The one waitress who was on her personal phone looked over and gave us a nasty look like kids arent suppose to cry or something. I asked her if there was a problem with the kid crying and she ignored me. Once we got our waitress she was not as bad. Not overly friendly, but not nasty snob. The food was great and came out quick. My wife said the reuben was the worst she has ever had, so i dont recommend it. Its a good place if you want some beers and some greasy food. Again, I want to mention the staff were nasty. They were all Irish and not friendly at all.

This is a good place for locals and travelers. The staff is efficient, courteous and sober most of the time, and you are made to feel welcome. If you are a regular, however, be prepared for an old menu and specials, with the same few things rotating in and out. Specials even include actual menu items, and the same price. The quality of the food is exceptional, however, especially the potato leek soup (rarely available anymore), burgers, seafood risotto and fish & chips.\r
\r
I think they've missed the point on the specials - something new would make me eat there more often! The kitchen staff is quite talented, and it would be nice to see some variety in the daily specials. They have karaoke on Fridays, led by some crazy guy called hacksaw or chainsaw, and that is generally my cue to exit on Friday night. A genuine nutter.\r
\r
This is also a good place to watch a game without the usual sports bar mentality and crowd. \r
\r
Overall very enjoyable

Pros: best pub food in midtown, especially the burgers

Cons: very old menu, same specials every week

I go here for lunch & afterwork drinks and have never been disappointed and so was shocked to see the bad review. One thing we do agree on is the good food at reasonable prices but I disagree on the service, its a busy place so the staff don't get much time for chit chat but I've always been treated pleasantly, also their burger is one of the best in the city

Not a bad place. The food is generally good and portions are generous. TVs are a bit loud for conversation. It's always crowded at lunch time and after work. One exception to the overall 'goodness' of the place is the staff. The waitresses are indifferent and not very friendly, without actually being surly. The evening bar staff, however, can best be described as lacking in personality and, on occasion, outright rude. One evening I misheard the cost of our round and when I questioned what the bartender had said she replied with a snide, overly pronounced ""Thhhhhirty"" as if I were an idiot who was unable to understand her thick Irish brogue. I've run into similar issues of attitude with bartenders there before as well. Co-workers who also go to Cassidy's agree about the staff. We still keep going though because the nearby location and good food outweigh the bad. Also, not a lot of reasonable alternatives in the area.

Pros: Consistently decent food at fair prices for the area. Good beer selection.

Cons: Surly bar staff and unconcerned waitresses.

If Jayzus was around, he'd have the "" Last Supper "" here, that's if he had any room left after murdering a few pints!!

This is an Irish Pub that appears to gear towards more of a tourist crowd with their somewhat close proximity to Times Square. There are several TV's around the bar, but none are very large. Prices are reasonable, $4.50 for a bottle of Coors Light, and the staff is friendly. They have Karaoke nights at 10:00 on Fridays. The bathrooms are in decent shape. It's located a few blocks away from any other bars so it seems to be a place for hotel guests to finish off a night in NYC than a place where you'd want to have a few drinks and stay for a while

My girlfriend and I visited New York for a girls trip and we were lucky to have been staying accross the street from Cassidy's. Even though we ate our way through the city, (and happy everywhere we tried), Cassidy's was a place we ended up (3) times in 5 days. Every day we went, we tried something new and loved it. Sheppard's Pie, and Fish and Chips are a must try. As most people in New York the help was pleasant but not anything more until we warmed the Irish waitress up who we then enjoyed an hour conversation with. I felt like it was a warm place away from the fast moving hustle and bustle of the city.

a group of us came into the city for xmas shopping/birthday celebration and wanted to start our trip in off right and thought a pub with a decent beer selection would be a good start. so we hit cassidy's. we walked in and nobody would seat us. we were rudely told to sit down after we approached someone 10 min. later. the service was miserable. our drinks were thrown on the table and when we asked for a drink menu, we were told to turn around and look at the bar. the food was fabulous. the service left alot to be desired, but everything else was amazing.

After a long day of shopping it was a good place for my husband to catch the game and relax. It was not a typical bar-white linenes and attentive service. Typical Irish food was very good and a good value-large portions. Patrons were a mix of adults and kids. Wood return for lunch again. Excellent location off of 5th Ave shopping.
