I bought a ticket in advance online for a trip from NY to Boston. When I showed up for the bus, which was set to depart at 4:45pm on a Sunday, I found it was TOTALLY OVERBOOKED. They refused to refund, and shockingly REFUSED TO RESCHEDULE. They stole 23 dollars from me.

I have heard some people refer to these Chinatown buses as being "sketchy," but I do not know anyone who has ever had a problem with them. This particular bus company actually does have a website. It is link for anyone who might want to check it out. The prices are cheaper than say Shortline or Greyhound, but not by as much anymore. The difference used to be very large, but I think that Greyhound has been cutting their fares because of companies like this one. I believe that there are destinations aside from Boston, like Baltimore, Washington D.C., etc.

Lucky Star is a Chinatown Bus service running from NY to Boston and Boston to NY. It costs $15 each direction.

Its major competitor is Fung Wah Bus who is used by many more people traveling from NY to/from Boston. This is possibly because Lucky Star is a newer brand in the market and it runs fewer trips than Fung Wah. No matter what you take, for $15 it is a really good deal.

The buses are very clean and most of the time, the bus arrives on time. If you want a deal on transportation costs, try these bus services out.
