Off the beaten track, but certainly worth the visit to Proctor, Vermont and the Vermont Marble Museum - interesting geology exhibit and history, hands on exhibits for the kids, great gift shop with tons of things made from Vermont marble!
Spring 2010 will be opening of a new exhibit of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier - great for veterans!
I also love the Hall of Presidents with neat facts about past presidents.

This is a great place to go on for a field trip with youngsters. They have some inetersting exibits and hands-on activities. However, the more technical work that goes into marble artwork may be more appropriate for older viewers. This is a must stop for any VT tourist.
