A little bit of too muh local Mardi Gras in Staten Island, a place that doesn't even know what it means; however they try to pretend that they do.

Bayou is one of my wife's favorite restaurants. The restaurant has a Mardi gras atmosphere but not a crazy Bourbon Street feel. If you like your food a little spicy but not to hot Bayou is a good choice. The prices are reasonable, the service is good and the food is excellent. There are also choices for people who don't like it hot. The restaurant is a little small but I have never had to wait long for a table even though I am usually a walk-in.

This local, "Cheers"-like atmosphere is the perfect place for New Orleans food. It has a kick without being overpowering. The service is amazing: everyone is so friendly and always willing to help. My brother in law swears by the alligator burgers but I think the Creole chicken wrap rules! If you want something different than pizza or burgers this is the place to go. Oh! Don't forget the incredible hurricanes and pitchers of white sangria - great to wash everything down with.

Pros: The hurricanes

Cons: none
